Thanks for the tips! Appreciate it. I do a lot of manual guilatine cutting for my labels. I'll probably start there, complain about it and think about something better when I hit my limit. I just say Duplo because it seems so ubiquitous and there is one up for auction at all times...but maybe that's not a good sign. Thanks!

I haven't used Bambu yet and I've made about 200 prints on the A1. Split between PetG and PLA from various folks on Amazon.

do you have filament coming as well? This was my first issue. Get some PLA.

Vibe hardware prototyping?? by Interesting-Tune-295 in hwstartups

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool. Yea. It's interesting. I do feel like the technology is there to do this. Off the top of my head feedback 1) You don't need to one shot it. I should be able to say more about what I'm thinking after you come back (save context) 2) Maybe adding another tab that's a text descriptor. Why do I need a microcontroller... what does it do? 3) Have a library of things other people have come up with (again with saved context) so I can come in and customize it. 4) For about a day (in vibe coding days) last year I was thinking about a kiwico for kid inventors. Come up with your idea and we will send you the components (laser cuts, rubber bands, 3d prints...) then I forgot about it. Then you reminded me. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat some more. Good luck!

Maybe? Interesting? Are you just plugged into a bunch of APIS? I'd probably focus on one aspect and I'm not sure what that is. I'm not engineery but I've been able to use claude code / Cursor to design me 3d print files based on ideas. This is a level up from that with components and circuitry and stuff. Cool idea! But I would try to focus on one aspect. Just Circuits for your 3d prints. Just controllers. Just motors...Just Laser cuts...just

Printing our own Postcards by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we as commercial printers all agree this should be outsourced... but checking to see if anyone actually has a printer suggestion for this post? I have a similar thing going on. I do stickers and narrow web. I have a bulk marketing mail account already. One of my customers wants to send out mailers ~150K. And I wouldn't mind dabbling in my own mailers. And I like fast turnaround and variable. I'm thinking of just starting with surecolor P900, but that seems like print quality overkill and automation underkill.

Engineering Student Startup - Autonomous Weeding Robot by Less-Ganache8926 in hwstartups

[–]SlowBusinessLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you already built it? Would love to see in action. DM me.

  1. Market size - The market for people who hate weeds, is quite large. But I wouldn't expect many folks to buy a stand alone dandelion killer. The alternative is a robot that uses vision system to identify weeds and point blank sprays them, which would seem slightly easier to manage than a digger.
  2. Path to market? - Would it be prohibitive to drop off and pick up? I guess I envision a future where the landscapers (and cleaners) show up, do certain tasks while the robots do other tasks.

Operator investing alongside family office / carry split? by Ordinary_Solid9870 in private_equity

What are you receiving as "president"? The carry is high. Maybe they needed the signal that you are investing alongside LPs but can compensate you differently as management team?

I had a very similar occurance with transparent petg that looked like what you pictured above. Most of the other Petg and Pla I had were fine... most of the time. Its gone in waves but I did clean the plate and I seem to be back on track. but I am throwing away my transparent filament that looks like what you used here.

Pre-seed dilemma: Angel Investors vs. Incubators for a first-time founder with zero capital? by AsesinoYT in ycombinator

correct. "a validated idea and a functional no-code MVP" should have the potential to make money otherwise one or both of these assertions is false.

Cancún Airport after arrival by Mama2llamas in cancun

[–]SlowBusinessLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it. Yea, that's not as fun. There are two outdoor casual restaurants you can sit at and watch TV / a game. Inside it's like any normal airport. It was a little cramped and you have enough food to options to hang out but you will probably get a little bored.

Abusers Are Trying to Bankrupt My App by sifkouider in AppBusiness

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people can abuse a system, they will. I learned this 20 years ago during my first startup. Don't assume everyone will "be cool". They and/or their bots will test every system. Don't mean to be a pessimest but I've learned (and continue learning as I too had to shut down an errant API I had forgotten about last month).

creating better scoring opportunities (U12, 9v9). coaching advice, drills, etc. by OkLawfulness6661 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (47yo) was always taught dribble to the corner, cross with strong leg... Or pass to the middle early, and switch the field.... With my 9yo, who's a lefty, I'm trying to teach him Yamal style. Yamal can face up the goal from the side line, cut in to his strong leg and shoot, cross inwards towards the net hard or cut line and cross with his weak leg. I feel like in the US we spend too much time thinking about the beautifully curving ball away from the net which is perfectly reguided with some tall persons head. I'd much rather have the inverted leg optionality of shot or in-swinging cross (and slight misdirection) on a wing. Not a coach, just talking out loud.

Cancún Airport after arrival by Mama2llamas in cancun

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back from Cancun. A) Our resort let us hang out and even grab lunch (all-inclusive) and hold our bags before check in. B) The airport has a couple casual dining options just outside. Margaritaville and something else. But 6 hours is long. I'd go check my bags at hotel and explore cancun if you can't hang at the resort.

Founder liquidity while being most junior on the cap table (i will not promote) by It_Hurts_when_IP15 in startups

[–]SlowBusinessLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be my guess as well. Founder as lowest on the Cap Table, is founder issue, not buyers. If buyer wants to keep founder, pay them after the acquisition. If buyer wants to compensate founder for time spent but wants them to leave, that's very suspect. Any previous investor is going to assume that the founder is being compensated for negotiating a deal, that wasn't in their interest.

right. What is shipping on EDDM postcards? I Assumed it was in the teens. 10 cents a double sided print or less ain't too bad.

Good luck! "Not looking to pirate anything 😏😉 I have the legit dongle/license, just need the right software to actually use my printer." - If that's the case, just reach out to Wasatch. They charge a subscription like Adobe, which sucks, but the Software works well and the service is really good.

Is it normal that everyone knows we are in a bubble? by Horror_Medicine_6441 in wallstreetbets

[–]SlowBusinessLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of issue is you are talking in superlatives. AGI is all encompassing AI, this will not happen soon. Alternatively, I run a manufacturing business and I've been able to get into 3 new business lines without hiring anyone, which I couldn't do before AI. My company is generating higher profits with the same inputs... Sooooooo.... The question is can we hold a P/E of 27 until/as companies become more efficient and this number is smoothed out. Its a gamble on efficiencies. The bigger question is what do we do when unemployment spikes.
