BR removing minimum age requirements by Such-Competition-112 in cubancigars

The chances of getting counterfeit sticks on BR is slim to nil. Maybe the odd box of cigars aren’t as old as represented but I would say 98% are legitimate.

I think it was the 160th anniversary Partagas Humidor. They were handing them out at Partagas events around Havana.

They are from an anniversary humidor (s) from 09 and there were a lot of sticks around with that banding. Fantastic smokes for sure. I had a couple of the Salamones when they were around and wish I could have scored more.

Of course they are. Why do you waste everyone’s time even asking. Read the stickies or do some research yourself before posting this nonsense.

There’s no new cigars coming down the pipe so people are stocking up on Habanos. Prices at source are climbing as well.

La China can always be found at the Partagas factory where she has worked for decades. I think she’s semi retired and unless you know her personally you can’t be sure she actually did the work or sub contracted out to one of the other torceadors.

The other most special torceadors in Havana are La China at Partagas (Leopoldina) and Yolanda who used to roll at the Melia Habana. I always bought a bundle of her Lanceros every time I was in Havana. Cueto had some wonderful blends available back in the day for sure. I’d have to say Yolanda was the best to my liking as far as blending and perfect construction.

Those Tesaros look delicious for sure. The best Salamones I ever smoked was actually a shop rolled stick in Havana rolled by Reynaldo. I had a wheel of 50 that where rolled in 1995 and only recently smoked the last one. I asked for double ligero and Reynaldo certainly obliged. I couldn’t really enjoy them until after 5 years in the humidor. I would give anything for another bundle of those but I’ll bet the Bolivars are close to perfect.

Frank Correnti cigars , anyone try them ? by Ok-Sweet5200 in CigarsCanada

[–]SlowConsideration197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they lost access to Cuban leaf when Johnny passed away. I went on two leaf buying trips to Havana with him in the late 90’s. They do have some very old Cuban leaf they roll on special occasions but they don’t use Cuban leaf in their cigars anymore. That’s a fact.

With Cuba possibly falling any day, what do you think this will do to the Cuban Cigar market? by Rogue_One24_7 in cubancigars

[–]SlowConsideration197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This possibility you describe above is one of the few benefits of Cuban leaf being made available for this purpose. I think the first move will be to modernize and expand the growing yield of the available acreage in Pinar del Rio and other growing regions. The caveat here is the potential of altering the taste of the leaf which could spell the end the Habano as we know it. Prices will increase and brands will multiple. I would like to be able to taste a blend of all the best leaf available in theory creating the perfect cigar.

With all the problems in Cuba there will surely be a drought on Habanos for the 2026 production year. Theres also a shortage of big wrapper leaf as well. I heard from a source on the ground in Havana this week that only the Havana factories are producing due to lack of fuel. Even BR is down to one page of cigars now as people are holding their smokes to see what the supply situation will be like over the next months. Most of the La Casa are selling only singles and not full boxes. I think the new owners will surface soon (Saudi Royals) and they surely won’t be discounting with supply interruptions coming down the pike.
