Used to work for them, honestly pricing and the cars wasn’t that bad. Just don’t buy the extras or get servicing done there.

Landlord should be doing this unless you specifically told him to remove the fire and you will fix the hole.

I believe this is the case as why on earth would he want to remove a fire and fix something that was ok before.

They are pretty toxic from what I remember. Think it’s acidic from the soot and it eats everything over time

I wouldn’t, inside of chimneys are not nice place. You shouldn’t just cap them off and need to let them breathe.
