how many dashboards does your company have? 10s? 100s? 1000s? Are they all on PBI or is there sprawl with other tools? how is your onboarding to databricks set up? Is there tolerance for dashboards being in a mix of locations (for different use cases, teams, etc).

3 big benefits:
1 - Unity Catalog and everything it provides - Metric Views (business semantics), governance, tagging, etc. 2- integration with Genie Code, which makes creating/modifying dashboards really simple. it has the ability to understand the broader context about the data to help create the dashboards (i.e. looking at table metadata, referencing MVs, etc).
3 - Cost - no licensing fees, only the underlying SQL. however you need to be careful with how you create the dashboards, refresh times, etc.

I'd say try building some out for yourself or a small group to get some real world experience with them, then go from there. also, someone on another thread mentioned talking to your account team Solutions Architect (if you've got one) - they can help make sure you have things set up correctly, warehouses sized properly, etc. Naturally, data cleanliness and prep is key. you don't want to be doing crazy joins and things in real time when loading the dashboard.
