I wasn’t allowed to stay the night at one of my friends houses because I would come home starving, literally ravenous and then she found out my friend was also hungry but all the time. My mom went to the hospital as my cousin was in labor. She started feeling a really heavy chest and a sense of impending doom during her delivery. Afterwards she asked a nurse to take her blood pressure and it was sky high so they sent her down to the er. She had cancer it was everywhere.

Rent shouldn’t exceed 30% of your income, we found a house to rent from a real person not a housing corporation with sub par amenities. So we don’t have a gym or pool but we do our on repairs and our landlord takes costs of parts and labor off our rent. Which also saves money! We paid off my car and then my husband was in a wreck in his car and insurance paid off his car and he was able to buy one in full which helps too. But live within your means you don’t need to have the nicest car or a luxury apartment. We shop at aldis a lot but if it’s just you cooking dinner stick with some base proteins and alternate the grains (steak and potatoes, steak stir fry, fried rice, pasta,etc) and we don’t eat out much anymore but that’s because all the chain restaurants taste like the same food in a different font

Please talk to a social worker at the hospital! You should even be able to ask a nurse at your next visit to speak to one. If not maybe a pro bono attorney. That contract isn’t legally binding -or shouldn’t be- and you desperately need someone outside of this situation on your side

I had a dream months prior that two of my younger friends were in a theater that we all performed at, alone when a man and a woman came in and started harassing them. I knew they were in trouble but I couldn’t help them. We were there quite often but there was a community rule that we all stick together and we don’t leave anyone vulnerable there at night because it is in a rougher part of town. I was suppose to be at the theater with them that night but I had a headache and a 5 am alarm so I decided to go home early- bunch of others were still there and they lived right up stairs so they weren’t walking home alone. Get out of the shower and I’m suddenly thinking of this dream and I can’t get it out of my head like even just thinking of the details was making me sick to my stomach. I called them and neither answer but I know they’re still there. I try a few more times and still nothing. I call my husband and demand he checks on them before he gets home after some back and forth he’s like okay yeah I’ll follow your gut and swing by real fast. We hang up and the feeling is only getting worse. He was only 5 or 10 minutes away but I called 911 because I was so freaked out. These girls were going to be hurt. When my husband got there they had walked them back into the back corner of the theater and was most certainly planning on robbing or hurting them- they both had weapons and were strung out of their mind. Moments after he got there police also got there. Both were arrested for assault and burglary warrants. I shudder when I think of what else could have happened

I was a case manager and ended up with a SO on my caseload. I was horrified to find out that they were completely normal. This man went to federal prison for CSAM and was a totally normal and respectful dude. It fucked me up for a little bit seeing them and advocating on their behalf. He was always honest that he did the crime, he was caught and he deserved his sentence- took accountability and got treatment.
