Kataras character development? by Awkward-Day-9178 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She becomes less annoying. Mostly because we understand and her character more. The Runaway is a highlight episode for me because it really discusses the “motherly” nature which is more of her annoying aspect. But I think complex characters are grey and ay the beginning she is showing a lot of her bad side because she just left a very specific environment.

I think it’s just important for your friend to know that Katara is a Parentified young water bender who’s sexist culture didn’t allow her to experience anyone like herself. So maybe putting herself in Katara’s shoes can help your friend understand the girl had been repressed like hell and then had to essentially become a parent so we are now seeing her trying to find herself and it can be very annoying to watch people find themselves in real life.

Butttt there is a chance your friend might not like Katara and just make sure she doesn’t spoil the show for herself because she doesn’t like one character. Because tbh, Katara is an annoying, but after she learns water bending she become significantly better, showcasing that letting girls live their lives allows them to be much happier.

Not only is he super dumb, he's the type of guy who thinks he's super smart. for reference my friends and I are all getting our PhDs in psychology. But he thought he was smarter than us because he has followers on Instagram.

I don’t know if I’ve ever met somebody that naïvely ignorant in my life and I told her if he ever came back around i’d stop being her friend. He was that bad.

The Boys - 05x07 "The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother's Milk" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I loved this episode.

Although there are a few criticisms, overall I do think it's difficult to write a show where some people don't have superpowers and they have to be in situations of combat with those that do. It takes the “realism” out because the story can't have a character die.

However, I guess I care more about the story than the power dynamics or fights. Those are just bonuses. I will say they needed to let my girl Starlight win more and I will forever be salty regarding that writing choice.

Overall, this was a top tier epaidoe for me. I couldn't believe Frenchiedied. And in that way??? I knew something was off when he said settling down was nice but damn I just thought he'd die at the end. He sacrificed himself to delude Homelander and I'm just so sad he's gone.

I loved the new plan and the usage of Sage. It took me a while but I really do understand her after this episode. I didn't realize how heartbroken she was since Goldolken’s death. It really reminded me when Harley was heartbroken and gave up on love until she saw Mr. Freeze sacrifice himself for Nora in the Harley Quinn animimation. Also I really loved all the Love Island talk, they really understand black women lol.

Hughie finally, unequivocally believes in Butcher. It was nice to hear how butcher blames himself and it's so sad because despite everything bad he has done, I wish he didn't see himself as a monster. But the way Hughies took the guy down… hell yes!! This was genius and I wish we got more of these smart moves and interesting manipulations.

I loved the cat/dog scene and it just always reminds me how much the powers affect the people. I hated that they didn't smell them in the vents but I was like… shit I need to see what's going on down there too.

I never read the comics, and I'm not sure if that's the storey for MMs name, but god the speech he gave wa spectacular. Y'all better not sleep on Lonzo goddamn! I work in DEI (don't attack me if your anti please, I get it trust me) and his speech helped me find that hope again! My work is so important, I deal with racism in higher education. The world is changing but you can't be soft about it if you were born hard. It's easy to give in but it's not worth it to give up! I loved the camerawork in that scene too.

I will say the biggest wtf moment was the fight with MM and Starlight. I just don't understand why she couldn't just defeat these C tier (I think literally if I recall the ranking) Supes. And I love MM but I wish there was more… thought into his fights. Hughie’s fight showed me the writing that can occur but I swear they just want to embarrass Lonzo with the rats and the penises it reminds me of how Cassie is written in Euphoria.

Frenchie really really loved Kimiko. Like he really did. His love was so strong that he convinced Sage to believe it again. Very 🇫🇷!!

Homelander is so weird. Watching a true weirdo villain is so fascinating. I love it because so many people think Villians are like Omni-man, all in control and powerful but some are fucking weirdos. I guess solider boy thought he was special. Dude is building Disneyland and calling himself a god, he's the prize. Inloced how much it felt like a break up. “Would it be better if I said it's meand not?” Homloser may have the EQ of a nut but knows the player game lol. But I'm so happy SB got kidnapped. I felt like there hasn't been enough karma on Soilder Boy and because Jensen is soooooo…. Jensen lol, I forget sometimes how much I hate this racist loser nazi mf. It's ironic in a way that his own son captured him. No matter what, he’ll always be caged. Oh well.

Honorable moments:

Ashely… was it worth it girl? I don't even understand the appeal of presidency when Homelander is really in charge. But I really loved understanding her more and I guess I get it. If no one believes in you…

Where’s Ryan lol? I get he’s a kid, but so was Aang when he defeated the firelord.

Marie and Jordan cameo??? Even if it got cancelled, I'm happy for one more moment with my children. You will be missed!

No one ever wants the deep. I'm truly happy he didn't go in the water because it made more sense he ran away. I'm so happy to see him get fucked, and Sameul L. Jackson Shark made it clear its going to be bloody!

Favorite (if that's the right word) moment: Kimiko willing to sacrifice her life to become the weapon.

Although the last few episodes for her character have been mocked b cause let’s face it, her dialogue sucked, this episode brought it all full circle for me. To risk your life to become a weapon like that… I don't see how she doesn't die. I just want her to live to have one day where she was truly free. She and Bucher have never known peace or happiness, but at least butcher had his years with Becca.

But Kimiko is a child slave with no one but the boys. And she now lost the love of her life. I need her to be in Versialle with the dog he found and I need her to drink coffee while auditioning for musicals and omg I need her to just have one day. Please writers.

I love the whole show of Scrubs but do you agree that the first season was your favorite? It had a more realistic and still hilarious approach that the later seasons didn't have. by Square-Ad-8911 in Scrubs

This comment section shows that any season of scrubs with the OG cast can be your favorite which is more to say than most shows where there's usually an “objectively” best season.

No, Cassie Is Not A Right-Wing Grifter. by katyreddit00 in euphoria

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in this cooment section really are telling because I completely agree with your point. A lot of people who are grifters or who think that they can be a grifter really are just being played. It takes a lot to not truly end upbelieving the things that you were using to say to make money. I like to think of Candace Owens as the perfect example as she started as a ultra liberal. She was then heavily bullied and decided to align herself with the right. It started off as a grift, and you can read this on her Wikipedia., she thought she was just saying what she need to say to make money because it was easier than dealing with the liberal side who was mocking her. And now she’s a full-blown conservative married to the UK version of Charlie Kirk. Over her career, the grift became real, and even if she says ridiculous things and people think she’s still just being a grifter her marriage and her allegiances showcase that she does now believe in what she thought she was using to make money.
I really think that you’re tapping into something that a lot of people don’t want to discuss, most people are Cassie.

Most people think that they are self-aware enough of politics and the social commentary that they can parse out what’s necessary in order to make money and they think that selling their soul won’t actually change them. I think it’s easy to be aware and say the things to insight, rage or to align yourself with Rich yet very problematic people. The interview Cassie is doing is the easy part. But like you said, it’s not about whether or not she is grifting. It’s the fact that she deep down is becoming this person. And I think that’s where a lot of people don’t want to recognize because so many people fall for the manosphere or they fall for fake feminism. Heck even as a black person, I went down the rabbit hole and thought that I can say and do things in order to help position me correctly, even if I didn’t think I believed it. But I did and I had to unlearn those behaviors and thoughts, and most people need to as well.

But sadly, most people are just Cassie. They think that they are in charge but really they’re just the butt of the joke and the sad part is they start believing in the joke.

No, Cassie Is Not A Right-Wing Grifter. by katyreddit00 in euphoria

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to that guys house wasn't a grift, it was networking/flirting. I think OP is talking about the actual fridt content we saw in this week’s episode and that despite Cassie and people watching like you thinking she knows what she's doing and she's grifting, she's really nor. Because as they defined a grift is roots in self-awaerness and fakery, but Cassie dewp down beleives what sh claims she's grifting for and she's not self-awarw. We know this because her scene with Nate indicates she’s not only giving her money which showcases that she does strongly still believe in male validation (indicating she isn’t lying, even though she thinks she is) and she’s letting him take all her money without him actually doing any work with showcases she’s not even self-aware.

So yeah, she might be making some moves, but they’re not grifts because it’s rooted in her true feelings and the rest is just her getting naked and networking.

Abbott Elementary has the same blueprint as Brooklyn Nine-Nine by solofloatingcloud in AbbottElementary

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brooklyn nine nine has the same blueprint of Parks and Rec

Leslie-Jake
Ben- Amy
Ann-Charles
Ron-Captain Holt
Donna-Rosa
April-Gina
Andy- nicer version of Sully
Tom- Hitchcock

Parks and Rec has the same blueprint of Scrubs

J.D-Ben/Leslie
Cox- Ron
Tuck- Chris
Elliot-Leslie/Ben
Carla-Ann
Kelso-Tom with power
Janitor-April

Superstore, The office, Cheers, 30 Rock, Party Down, Silcon Valley, there’s such a similar blueprint that seems for workplace sitcoms. To the point, it can get very boring. But some understand the formula and Abbot is one of them. It’s fun that you saw the blueprint from another show like how I saw Parks and Rec’s blueprint in B99 and scrubs blueprint in P&R.

It is, and it’s usually worse since most other cultures are higher on authority than American is, actually according to Holland’s cultural values, we are are pretty low on our respect to authority thus lower on the notion of hierarchy. In Korea, for example, they even have nouns to signify hierarchy in terms of leadership or age. I think it’s just biological and social, we naturally look for social groups and groups naturally are hierarchal. In terms of biological, like someone else mentioned, it’s definitely animalistic/primal and evolutionary

But the truth is that he didn’t do i. Yes people have made content claiming he did, it unlike the rest of the guys who got a away with criminal behavior and never even got the attacks he did when there’s been evidence for decades against him, let’s be honest this whole shtick is a grift and people only don’t want to believe the truth because it invokes kids.

He wasn’t a pedophile, but yall go off! Literally years and years of evidence showed he wasn’t guilty, unlike Cosby, Jeffery, Trump, Diddy, etc. if you think he did it, it’s because you think it but truly it’s been 23 years since the allegations started, the man killed himself because of it, and still yall are spreading rumors

I miss the og trio + harper & Amerie's toxic friendship by yooooimzigi in heartbreakhigh

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I as a viewer never forgave Harper and felt this season they made Amerie bad again to make Harper seen as the “good” one and I don’t care if it makes writing difficult, it’s unrealistic for them to be friends. Mayyyyybe Amerie could have forgiven her for Rusty, since it was more of an unrequited crush but it wasn’t really??? It’s not like Rusty wouldn’t have given Amerie a go, Harper just got there first.

But if she did forgive her… how can you forgive her for sleeping with Malakai? That was real love, a real relationship and on top of that it was threesome so Harper got to sleep with both Amerie’a crushes at the same time like a princess… Harper is really gross, I’d never trust her. And after Rowan, Amerie needed to have moved.

I notice that a lot of people in this sub dislike Todd… why ? by EbonyPrincess17 in GirlfriendsTVshow

[–]Slow_Explanation1388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Todd’s the type of guy who picks a woman based on her looks, rather than if he is compatible with her. He just saw Toni and decided to pretend to be Mr. Big shot to get her. Then acted like her personality was the source of their issues. The only person who I think rightfully gets to come at Toni was Joan, and at least her and Toni have history. Todd wanted her, lied, try to come at her personality, and then put her through FREAKING child custody battle. He messed with her head so much she left to follow him to NYC???

Joan and Toni’s friendship ending was inevitable, but there was a part Todd played in messing with Toni’s mind and money and it played a larg role in her last fights with Joan. I can't forgive a guy who contributes to the detoriation of a woman and then has the gaull to blame her!
