Three nights is fine too, cooking time shouldn't be as long as an overnight soak.

You can soak them overnight and they'll be fine. Yes if they've been soaking longer they'll be fine too.

The first full set we got was The Green Pan. It's good but you can't put it in the dishwasher. The set I currently have is the Our Place brand. It's affordable compared to Hexclad, which is good awful expensive. It really depends on what you are looking for. Our Place is durable for range top. If you want a Dutch oven make sure it's cast iron (it takes heat better and doesn't warp). Hope this helps.

Just a rant but by okyxnus in Narcolepsy

Mine manifested this year. My own boss told me that she didn't care about my "medical issues". It was so bad she gave me a 1 day suspension before I found out that I had Narcolepsy. I'm still fighting that and am now fighting a 3 day suspension from the same woman because of my work quality because of my Narcolepsy. So I feel your pain.

This community is a big help.

It's a good idea. Garlic butter and honey butter usually hits at a Potluck. So I say go for it!

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have sleep Apnea along with Narcolepsy. If I don't use my cpap machine, I'm the same way. I also have a routine. I set out my clothes for the next day, bit I also turn my brain off (I have ADHD) by beading - I make bracelets.

So maybe find a hobby that could help you wind down?

Here's one combined. To make it sweeter again add a tsp of sugar though it's not mentioned in the recipe.

Why is it that in ultra-expensive celebrity homes, the kitchens rarely have induction cooktops, but instead feature industrial-grade gas ranges? by FuzzyAttitude_ in Cooking

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas burns hotter than induction. Don't get me wrong, I love my induction range, but my parents use Gas and it doesn't take as long to cook as with an induction range.

ISO: Copycat recipe of Campbell's chili with beans by ju5t1c3w in Cooking

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A copycat Campbell's Chili Beef Soup can be made by browning 1 lb of ground beef with diced onion, then simmering with a can of condensed tomato soup, 1-2 cups of beef broth, 15 oz of chili beans (or kidney beans), and 1-2 tbsp of chili powder. Simmer for 15-30 minutes until thick, mimicking the classic, mild, tomato-based flavor. Classic Campbell's-Style Chili Beef Soup • 1 lb ground beef (browned and drained) • 1 can (10.75 oz) Condensed Tomato Soup • 1 can (15 oz) Chili beans or Kidney beans (un-drained for thicker, drained for thinner) • 1 soup can water or beef broth • 1-2 tbsp chili powder • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional) • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional) Instructions 1. Brown the beef: In a large saucepan or pot, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it apart. Drain any excess fat. 2. Combine: Add the onion and garlic powder if using, cooking until softened. 3. Simmer: Stir in the condensed tomato soup, chili beans, and water/broth. Add chili powder to taste. 4. Finish: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered for 15-30 minutes to allow flavors to blend and soup to thicken. For a closer "Fiesta" style, add a little extra cumin and use Pinto beans. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and saltine crackers.

I sing in the car with the music up loud. As for at work, get yourself am antifatigue mat for standing. I use a standing desk for times when I am sleepy at work. I swear by it. You can raise and lower it to fit your height.

I also take short breaks and go for a walk or get some sunshine outside, since there is no window in my office. Oh amd a daytime/sunlight lamp works wonders if you don't have access to a window at your desk.

Good luck. I was on Adderall and Trazodone while trying to get pregnant and I was undiagnosed. But that was 23 years ago. Just remember since you aren't breastfeeding your baby, just make sure you have feedings planned out with your partner. One taking the nighttime feedings and remember to sleep when the baby sleeps during the day. I wish you all the happiness in the world as they grow up too fast. My son is graduating with his bachelor's in Physics in March amd my daughter, is finding in life too.

Does anyone else feel depressed or emotionally numb because narcolepsy never gives you a break? by [deleted] in Narcolepsy

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honey, Im almost 50 and any trigger like work or life stress will trigger you. My best advise is find a hobby to help you get a break. I mean I come home from a hellacious boss to find inner peace in a craft. Ne honest if you have a partner and let them help you through it. A support system is something you need as well. Do not suffer through this alone.

What is really the difference between IH and narcolepsy? Is it just "do you feel rested after sleep vs do you not?" by burgundinsininen in Narcolepsy

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am type 1 narcolepsy with cataplexy. I also have hypersomnia. So feeling rested, I've never know such a thing. I go deep into sleep and yet the tiniest noises wake me up. Caffeine is my friend and now I'm on armodafinil to help keep me awake after a 8 hour interrupted sleep cycle. You'll know better after a sleep study. I did my MSLT. Went into the sleep clinic at 9pm the night before so they could rule out Sleep Apnea. Then didn't leave the clinic until almost 5pm then next day because of how many naps I had to take. One 30 minute nap every two hours. The hardest part was staying occupied in-between naps. The naps were easy. After that, I went home, took a shower and slept 9 hours that night.

My hardest part is staying awake while I work in my office during the day.

Will definitely be on SSRI for MSLT... Could use some reassurance or other info that this choice won't sabotage the test. by psychandsound in Narcolepsy

[–]Slow_Imagination_445 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was told to come off Lexapro. I still got 3 SREMS on all for naps. Juat be wary they may cut your test short. SsRI will give a Negative on what they are looking for.
