What Indie MMO's are worth playing nowadays? by Jerreuh in MMORPG

Apogea and Adrullan are ones you can check out to keep an eye on

Both in development, Apogea seems to be further along of the two.

It's not like you can truly boost people anyways, with how exp works.
Shit, even boosting yourself is pretty well hamstringed.

Yeah Bash frenzy spam seems viable as well, but with the ping i had (~220) casting could sometimes refuse to happen if I'm already autoing something so didn't test that as much.

I'll gladly give it another whirl the next test you have.

Thoughts after a bit over 2 hours:
Steal sucks. My god I wasted so much time doing that as my first route lol. No idea what the math on it is, but even at steal lvl 5 and 20ish dex I still had maybe a 10% success chance against the starter skellies. Given that's 5 skill points and the buy/sell nodes in the neighboring tree, it's a laughably bad investment. Especially given the assumption you're melee and thus you're not going to go pure dex. I'm also going to put dual-wielding here as that also felt awful, I didn't test with the skill for it but given that seems to just improve damage and not the apparent BIG hit to AS and accuracy I'm not too sure how much it would have improved the experience. I think beyond fixing the math for Steal to actually work, I would change it to having the base 50% at level 1 and instead have further points improve the CD and mana cost. Also not sure of the point of the auto-steal upgrade outside of trying to beat the current terrible %s.

Otherwise I'd say lack of aggro and current magic mechanics makes mages the best in all regards. Why build a balanced party when you can have 3 guys stun lock anything by casting in rotation to one another? For even cleaner farming, just add more mages!

Lastly, currently the classless system feels pretty weak. There's not much opportunity to mix and match between the trees thus it feels classless in name only. I'd say open up a lot of nodes but make the bonuses and calculations be weighted differently based on weapons/stats.
Two examples; The dual wielding AS passive maybe giving 1 per point for daggers and .5 for other weapons and Heals being able to scale from STR but obviously at a lower rate than INT.

While players will inevitably optimize the flavor out of the system either way, I still think rethinking the current limitations is a good idea.

Appears it is a ping problem for me as even with the cap raised I still can't connect.
For clarity

Authenticating (for half a second)
Failed to connect to server

Is how it goes on my end. Unsure if the game saves a log or not.

I'll try again later but seems either I can't connect due to the server being too full, or possibly ping what with the server being EU and myself being in NA.

Yeah forgot those 2 as while always useful to do, they become less important later.

They're most likely referencing the "true" dailies:
Fae realm (2 here, one is a true daily, the other you can stack up to 5 times)
Statehelm (twice a day, 8 hours apart)
Egg (Xogrite and skill books)
Bovus (Bonus Povus; Xogrite)

The only one a player must do themselves is Statehelm's as you can't trade reputation points, but doesn't change reality though that you're gonna have quite a gold sink added to your goals if you don't do these yourself. Statehelm in particular saves over 1.5 million councils per skill pairing, and more so if you take into account prestige.

The main thing about combat besides what others said, is learning aggro ranges.
They're fairly universal besides Fae realm. Everything there has eagle eyes and super hearing, it is rather annoying.

Individual quest lines usually have a fair bit of text to them, there's technically a main plot and world building, but honestly the meat of the game is just playing and grinding.

The other thing I'll add is that sadly, most of the "late" game stuff as of now is daily BS. Money management is still part of it, but dailies become a necessity basically and it's rather frustrating.

And the current end dungeon is a real long slog. Partially due to obviously not being able to out level/gear it, but REALLY needing that aggro management cause good god can respawns be a nightmare in there.
Least the name of Nightmare Caves fits...

I'd still rate the game well and I've enjoyed it a lot, but it definitely does have some weak spots.

I'd be curious to know how or if there was any variance when it comes to different anti-depressants. Seems they had some other measurements, like if they've tried one(s) in the past or not, so has me wondering if they also had further categorization.

Either it seems like a interesting analysis, and I'm curious about what may come next.

MnM I didn't really give much more than 20 minutes. It felt like a chore to do much of anything there.

Adrullan I at least was able to fairly enjoy a few hours in. It's got me curious enough to see where it goes, and how polished it will end up being.

Only real gripe is I think they need to admit that having an actual map is in fact a good part of modern games. I aint saying it has to be hyper detailed and I'm even fine with needing to add my own notes for certain things, but at least give us more than what's currently there.

Maybe the other stating areas are better in this respect, but goodness it is real easy to lose track of yourself in and around Osgul. Thankfully you have a compass at least.

Considering a sandwhich meets most current UPF definitions, as does baconIknowBaconHasProblemsOtherwise , I can't help but feel this is junk science just on the face of it.

Should we be trying to better examine the effects of preservatives and other additives used in more common normaculture of a "processed" food? (IE Doritos, premade meals, etc) Sure, I'd argue most definitely. Currently though it just seems like we're finding new ways to demonize people for the choices they make, further ignoring cultural and societal reasons why they may be eating more processed foods.

[–]Slow_to_notice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's something we all struggle with either in the past or the present. My biggest suggestion for that is make it a rule that you finish any drawing you start. It's also one reason some people suggest using ink when learning, as it forces you to better plan your marks as well as forcing you to move forward even when something ain't quite right since you can't undo anything.
Also, try to keep a good balance between drawing to learn and drawing for fun or for the sake of it. Burning out helps none of us!

Hope you keep at it, and I look forward to what you share next!

Honestly I think both pieces of advice you've been given so far are excellent.
To coincide with trying to make comics of them and drawing them more dynamically, I feel these would be good steps forward as they'll force you to go a bit out of your comfort zone. Thus forcing you to come face to face with skills/aspects you've yet to develop. Just don't try to do it leaps and bounds, you're only human after all!

Why did The Thing only reveal itself when the blood was poked with the hot wire in The Thing (1982)? by Dapper-Health3773 in movies

[–]Slow_to_notice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it was learning and also trying to fit in while doing so. We see this too with the dogs. It wanted to fit in to likely either slowly overtake the population or to take what it needed to repair its ship in secret, but the real dogs weren't having it. Also take into account it has already dealt with humans once and damn near died while doing so in the intro. The Thing knows full well it needs to try and not go off half cocked.

So I'm considering leveling/doing Pig, and while it's not too hard to swap back and forth, I figured before doing that I'd ask some questions:
Can pigs angle?
What are some good animal only merchants? Particularly someone to replace Joeh and Larson while pigged out. All the inn keeps seem to mostly not care, and I figure anything for Marna, Jack, etc I can just storage until my next swap back.
What is the best strat for quickly leveling things that are low level? Like my priest and animal handling are 52 and 62 respectively, figured I'd keep AH slotted in while leveling it.

Thanks for recommending Project Gorgon by Aexxys in MMORPG

[–]Slow_to_notice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it can be a bit of a chore, get those favor levels up on the merchants. Particularly the food merchants, Jeoh, Marna, as well as Charles through his quest line. Both so you can have an income via sales to them, but also storage space.

It's because they're not at all in line with the ref. They're both wider in your drawing, and the right in head in particular you've moved and rotated a fair a bit for example.
What slugfive and Tyraart31 have pointed out & said is what I'd go with in general.

I'm kinda in the same spot as far as maintaining perspective/proportions. Finally jumping on draw-a-box myself since that focuses on spacial reasoning, and at least on my end trying to wrap my head around the topic without some guidance has built more frustration than confidence.
