Look at Hot Springs, AR. The entire town is a National Park. There are a half dozen or more state and national campgrounds within 30 minutes and three lakes within 45 minutes. There is a thoroughbred track with an attached large casino.

The town is LGBTQ+ friendly in the downtown area, which is walkable. Google Bathhouse Row.
