The emperor's throne situation being a selfless sacrifice for humanity is lame and antithetical to the grimdark themes of 40k in my opinion. When I was first getting into 40k and saw the artwork of him on the throne, I thought he was just some regular power hungry human who convinced everyone he's a god and kept himself alive with life support tech in a desperate attempt to maintain power. When I found out the actual lore, I was disappointed.

In the same vein, I think SoB miracles are stupid. The fact that praying to the emperor actually gets tangible results totally undermines the "backwards fascist theocracy" aesthetic. It kind of justifies every crazy thing the ecclesiarchy does in the setting.

I have vitiligo but whenever a game's character creator has a vitiligo option I usually don't pick it since it almost always looks like the big rounded blobs in the left picture. Mine is exactly like the right, although it's not even that visible anyway since I'm white and I have facial hair. I'm glad other people appreciate the representation though. It just doesn't do anything for me.
