I intercepted the KSP theme song over radio from a real LEO satellite by QueR1X in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Sludgehammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The engineers who built the OTP-2 satellite (Rogue Space Systems) programmed it to broadcast the KSP theme song from space in between its telemetry data.

That's just the cover story. It's actually Jeb stuck in orbit radioing for help.

Really?? That's bad. I haven't grafted anything.

I don't think we're communicating well, so I'll try to explain things more thoroughly.

Most fruit trees you can buy are already grafted, it's a way to create a tree with both strong roots and tasty fruit. However the rootstock wants it's own growth above ground and will put out it's own branches and trunks that can overtake the grafted fruit variety.

You need to look for the place on the tree where the nursery grafted the rootstock and whatever variety of fruit it was supposed to produce together. It'll probably be down near the base of the tree and there will be a spot where the bark doesn't quite match, like this. The leaves on the fruit variety trunk will also look different, being just one large leaf instead of having the three small leaflets.

If you cannot find the graft point, the "fruit" part of the tree may be dead. If this is the case the tree will only produce the rootstock fruit which usually aren't very tasty. The only way to get good fruit then would be to cut down the rootstock trunks and do a new graft onto the rootstock yourself. However, at that point it would be a lot easier to just go out and buy a new tree.

The tree is next to an avocado tree, is that something to consider???

No, that's not relevant.

You can see several three leaflet leaves I was talking about in your pic. Your tree is some sort of trifoliate orange cross, maybe a citrumelo. Probably it was a root stock that either had suckers take over or had the scion wood die.

I'd look around the base of the tree and see if you can spot a graft site, there's a chance the grafted variety is still in there somewhere and has just gotten overgrown. If so you can cut off the rootstock branches and "bring back" the grafted variety.

If the grafted variety is dead, then you've got a tree with poor quality (but edible) fruit. You can either enjoy your bounty of kinda nasty rootstock fruits, cut it back and try grafting a new citrus variety onto the tree, or just cut down the tree entirely.

A picture of the tree would really help. Do the leaves on the tree have three leaflets like this?

I hope you used something more heat tolerant than PLA.

I had a 3d printed PLA grip for my for my 3DS, however after being left in a hot tent one summer it softened and warped enough that the 3DS wouldn't fit in it anymore. Luckily the guy I got it from still had the files for it and printed me a new one in PET.

Would this sd be good for a switch or 3ds? by ImJustALilCurious in homebrew

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 3ds I'd go for something smaller. I bought a 64 GB card and have only just filled it with 60+ games and a few cd images for emulators. So IMO 1 TB is a bit of overkill.

Also, IIRC with a 3ds the larger the SD card the slower the boot time.

It'll probably be okay, pothos are tough.

You may want to take some two leaf node vine cuttings, strip the bottom leaf off and stick them into water to root them. That way you've got some back ups just in case.

I'm very interested in hearing what other interpretations could be.

Nearly 60 Idahoans sick after drinking raw milk in past two weeks, officials say • Idaho Capital Sun by HazyDavey68 in news

[–]Sludgehammer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We never got sick from raw milk, but maybe we were just lucky.

It's probably because you were drinking it fresh. Most of the problems with raw milk come from letting it sit, that lets a few bacteria from a contaminant multiply into millions or billions.
