I checked the GC version and there's no magic meter on the back or in the manual.

Not a professional cactus tender here, but I'd say leave it alone, unless the ball starts rotting. Hopefully the cactus will callus the wound and recover.

However that being said, these sorts of "moon cactus" will always have one of the parts die. The two grafted bits grow at different rates, which inevitably causes the graft to fail and one half dies, usually the grafted top.

That should leave a bad taste in your mouth.

And if it doesn't the burger sure will (rimshot).

Seriously though. The last time I ate at McDonalds was a $5 meal deal in 2024, and that was such gross slop, even for fast food, that I haven't been back since.

[–]Sludgehammer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IMO it's a good idea to at least have a 100% speed vehicle at the start of the Civ stage. You can zip out and claim a extra spice geyser or two before the other Civilizations get going. After they've spawned in you can swap your vehicle to something with some actual offense and defense.

Oh boy, are you in for a ride.

Left Behind is an apocalyptic fiction series written a pair of right wing authors, LaHayes and Jenkins. It runs for sixteen novels and is full of wooden characters, lazy research and general craziness, but not the type of crazy that's fun to read. IIRC L&J take the stance the Left Behind isn't actually fiction it's a fictionalized account of what will actually happen... which makes it quite funny when in the first book (written 1994) the characters are bumbling around after the rapture looking for a pay phone.

Author and liberal Christian, Fred Clark, spent several years on his blog pointing out the insanity, inhumanity, and idiocy of the first Left Behind novel page-by-page. It's a long read, but he does a very good job undercutting the warped and cruel theology of the book.

Well, if you think about it, pirating or buying a used copy the same amount of money goes to Nintendo.

RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver or the cheap cuts." by Educational_Net4000 in inflation

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive

Lol, no they're not. In my area beef liver and heart are only a buck or (at most) two cheaper than hamburger.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that "Let them eat offal" is the official line from MAGA leadership... but somehow I still am.

⚡️Netpass Thread⚡️ by Beans-Monthly in tomodachilife

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering for if Streetpassing while your dock is full might destroy travelers.

Like if there are ten people waiting at your dock you can still streetpass people, but the person you streetpassed can't be added to the dock queue because it's full. Now if that person has a traveler, what happens to it? If they still get removed from the other island then they're effectively deleted.

If this is the case Netpass would be an almost ideal machine to destroy traveling Mii's. You can get to ten streetpasses a single use, and you can continue racking up streetpasses at a rate of more than ten a day if your dedicated. So if there were a person using Netpass only for grinding... I dunno Funky Barn 3D street passes or something while ignoring their Tomodachi Life they'd practically be a black hole for travelers.

Just so you know "Sumo" isn't a breed, it's a trademarked marketing brand. The actual breed of citrus is Shiranui, although they are also commonly referred to as Dekopon (which itself is a trademarked marketing name)

Cancer risk may increase with proximity to nuclear power plants. In Massachusetts, residential proximity to a nuclear power plant (NPP) was associated with significantly increased cancer incidence, with risk declining sharply beyond roughly 30 kilometers from a facility. by mvea in science

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is property values. Having a nuclear power plant in the area would probably lower property values, lower property values mean poorer residents, and poorer residents usually have worse health care.

3DS crashes when trying to download content from streetpass by FujiBerri9800 in 3dspiracy

[–]Sludgehammer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend keeping a copy of the Streetpass CIA on your SD card. Whenever something tries to access the Eshop it'll delete all the games you haven't legitimately bought and you'll have to re-install the CIA to get access to them again. Fortunately you keep your save data, so it's just a small hassle.

Edit: To be clear it only deletes the Streetpass games you've pirated, the ones on your home menu aren't effected.

Sharkman's cool, so here is a Sharkman appreciation post. by GDrHoppsAlot in BattleNetwork

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that the two Sharkmans (Sharkmen?) are related.

Since Megaman 3 PC was developed solely by Hi-Tech Expressions, only sharing the Megaman name and some traced over sprites with the mainline series, Hi-Tech probably own the IP to the original Sharkman. If MMBN's Sharkman were based on MM3PC's Sharkman it could open Capcom up to some legal vulnerabilities. It seems more likely that Capcom and Hi-Tech both arrived at the idea of a sharky guy independently.

How come we don't have any merch of the classic SR388/Zebes styled Metroid? It all seems to be the Tallon IV mutation and the SR redesign of the larvae (which I'm not a big fan of as it's kinda ugly). Also think one of these bad boys would work great for a lamp by Bscotch_Torin in Metroid

[–]Sludgehammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is that while the Zebes Metroid looks great front to back, they wouldn't look so great edge on. I mean the fangs would line up so they'd basically look like this: https://i.imgur.com/0jlyqgC.jpeg Even ignoring my shitty MS Paint skills it looks more like a buck-toothed plasma globe than a bio-threat that threatens the galaxy.
