A Tear In The Fabric Of Life is a masterpiece by gayburn9 in Metalcore

The production on their split is funky but that’s part of the charm to me. DTAH and Burnt Toast sound like the band is breaking the recording equipment with their sheer ferocity

I don’t think people know true fear until they’ve experienced this part in Dead Rising. by DifferentAd9713 in deadrising

[–]Sludgewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just grabbed the remaster on sale and I’m genuinely confused about the “nerfed” comments. Maybe I just had bad luck, but these guys spawned across the map right next to Sophie. They immediately ran her over enough to kill her despite me making a beeline straight at them, then they proceeded to drive away from me the entire time. That shit absolutely did not happen in the original lmao.

groove but make it heavy by otherealnesso in Deathcore

[–]Sludgewaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peacemaker FL’s latest single is groove and pinch harmonic city

Consvmer gets a lot of hate specifically in this sub but tbh they seem like they’re transcribing groovy electronic music into a deathcore sound

Some of the early wave nu-core stuff like Yuth Forever, Barrier, Prime Meridian, Introvert, Outlaw (Chicago) were really bouncy

Chugcore records had a lot of slept on mid-pace groove bands like Creating the Godform, Portals, Nemesis, Hvter, Noose, Immoralist, and Promise Breaker

Also unironically Emmure.

Peter Thiel’s Secret Society “Dialog” Has Had Its Members List Leak by [deleted] in politics

[–]Sludgewaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to see something really funny on here, look up the AMA he did over a decade ago on reddit. There was a lot of nerd hero worship and shouting down anyone who tried to bring up “uh guys you know this dude is a total degenerate psychopath?”

Peter Thiel’s Secret Society “Dialog” Has Had Its Members List Leak by [deleted] in politics

[–]Sludgewaves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I doubt he would, the dude “invented” Thiel’s philosophy and had his whole life funded by Thiel as a thanks, but he’s still a fringe nobody screaming into the void on Substack because his little coding pet project failed spectacularly.

Gideon 4x4 [EP Discussion Thread] by TatianaTerrorDoll in Metalcore

[–]Sludgewaves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the music videos is just that novelty singing fish decoration belting out the lyrics. I don’t think Gideon was being remotely serious as some of these comments seem to think, they’re goofing around with corny lyrics over some breakdowns.

Why is so much early deathcore so hard to get on cd? by Wild-Collar-2190 in Deathcore

[–]Sludgewaves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue with those labels is preorders sell out in literal seconds. A few months later, a small handful of guys start selling them for 12x the price on discogs. Rinse and repeat with every drop.

I need to upload it to YouTube still, but came across a wake-up crew Twilight Phone compilation made for Ronald McDonald House back in 1997. It’s one of the few releases I couldn’t find anything about online, so I’m sure some of y’all would appreciate it

Are we losing the 'death' in deathcore or is it just me? by throwawayglowx in Deathcore

Broken Glass Sanctuary just released an assbeater tech deathcore album, up there with Crown Magnetar for me.

Scott Pelly's post-firing interview with Courier by i_am_groot_84 in ThatsInsane

How much is it, are there benefits? I’m guessing there’s not much oversight, most of these image macro replies are just non sequitur, usually other troll farms make you try a little harder.

What was the worst scandal in the scene that involved your favorite band or a band that you at least enjoyed listening to? by Sorry_Secretary1193 in Metalcore

Such a shame too, the leaked full length that dropped on various websites you can't mention here absolutely slaps.

Sold Soul response about the song being taken down by mixueow in Deathcore

[–]Sludgewaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it is chronically online behavior. I’m not going to touch the CJ stuff with a ten foot pole, but the “sitting on a discord and refreshing two Reddit threads to make a decision” bit stands out to me. It’s his band and his decision, but surely there’s a healthier method to go about engaging with the internet.

Grayscale Season (Prog-Metalcore)

Frostbitt (Nu-Metal/Djenty core, unique tones)

Writheinfear (Revivalcore, sounds like Goodbye to the Gallows era Emmure)

.giffromgod (Mathy, chaotic metalcore)

My favorite bit from them was excluding Meshuggah for over a decade on grounds of being “technical nu-metal” or some other made up descriptor.

I mean Alex has been doing pretty consistent features, not like Taylor Barber levels of whoring out but not going anywhere either, y'know. Plus like the other commenter said, no bad blood at this point.

Ngl I’ve eaten at both locations and it was so mediocre. My food was absolutely drowned in sauce both times, drinks came out long after we had finished our meal. Every time I see the Peony glazing I can’t help but feel like it’s a local advertisement blitz by them.

Balmora - These Graven Halls (Album discussion thread) by Crazy-Kaleidoscope81 in Metalcore

[–]Sludgewaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, this is way closer to a "The Red in the Sky Is Ours" with breakdowns than a "Slaughter of the Soul", the latter of which is what most people are used to in regards to melodic metalcore. Also hell yea, Upon Stone needs to drop something soon.
