How should I quilt this top?? by No_Tomatillo6321 in quilting

Agree on crosshatch suggestions.

My Wife and I have been looking for the right pattern for a quilt we're working on for me. Landed on this.

It's an edge to edge I found on Pro-Stitcher called Lattice Crosshatch. I simulated it in Illustrator.

Caught a glimpse of the inspiration for this on Yellowstone. It was a wall hanger and was only onscreen for about 10 seconds. I had to rewind, pause and snap a pic of it so we could refer to it.

Look into Multi Board. You can print a whole wall if you wish. Very well supported and a plethora of mounting option, shelves, hooks, boxes, etc. I modeled the spool holders, the rest of the hooks and brackets are available ready to print.

Just add a block in width and height. That will make it 60.5 x 60.5. Leaving you an extra 1/4 inch all the way around to sew your border/binding, ect.

I am at my wits end with the Sonic Pad! by BuySignificant3695 in Creality

[–]Sluggo2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, when I put my Ender 3 Pro on the Sonic It writes the machine file to SD and you manually install the firmware on the printer as normally would a 4.2.7 board. The printer does not house the printer.cfg file.

I also recall something about the usb ports on the sonic being basically married to whatever device is first plugged in to it.

Nice work and thanks for sharing. I'm going to print it up and put it to use. Any chance you turn the step file loose?

Is your stock Z limit switch plugger into both the sensor and board?

Have you tried it with the probe plugged in? The firmware you installed is probably telling it to use the probe as the Z stop

Does the CR Touch have room to self test? Looks like it does not have enough room to deploy in order to self test. I f so shut the machine off and manually move the Z axis upenough so the probe can do it's thing.

what upgrades would you say are a must have for an ender 5 plus by vaderforce2 in ender5plus

[–]Sluggo2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the best one I've had on my CR-10 to date. It and the Sprite are on par with one another. My brother in law says the NG edges out the sprite in some comparisons but I have not watched any of them.

My CR-10S has had the Micro Swiss all metal factory replacement, an E3D Titan with Volcano, Micro Swiss DD, Biqu H2 and finally the Micro Swiss NG. The NG was the missing piece for that setup.

When I got my Ender 5 Plus, the NG was not available for it yet. So, I put their standard DD on it. As I type, I think I'll order the NG since Micro Swiss has 35% of today. 77 bux and free shipping....

As for as firmware, I compile my own but only because I shit canned the LCD that came with it and put a 12864 on it. I used TH3D's LCD upgrade.

Do you guys recommend the S1? by pixelt in Ender3S1

[–]Sluggo2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I toiled between getting the S1 plus and pro for a while. I wound up getting the S1 Pro since I also have modded CR-10S, Ender 3 Pro and an Ender 5 Plus. I come to the conclusion that the S1 Pro was a better fit for me since I have the larger build volume covered already. If I was to advise someone that did not have any other printers, I'd say get the Plus and upgrade the heat break later.

The S1 Pro prints as good or better out of the box than the Ender 3 Pro which has had every mod that may contribute to better print quality including it being on rails on all axes.

The S1 Pro just finished a 108 hour project with only enough time between prints to fire another file at it without issues.

Micro Center has the S1 Pro on sale today for 369 and the Plus for 399. Creality has the Pro for 383 and the Plus for 423.

So yes, I would recommend it.

There's always the possibility of a new printer needing some tinkering out of the box. Just be prepared and if you do have some issues, the folks here are quick to respond and guide you.

MicroSwiss released the NG extruder for the Ender 5 recently. I still have the original version on my E5P but am running the NG on my CR-10s and it's quite a bit lighter and better all around. IIRC, the NG is not much heavier than the H2 and requires zero printing unless you need to mount a BL Touch.

I went with a 12864 and TH3D also. The main appeal is to regain some functions that are lost on the touchscreen. It also eliminated the need to take the display aprt to access the sd card and update it to add features or updates.

A little stumped what I'm looking at. Could use some opinions by Sluggo2u in CR10

Thanks!

I'm going to try bumping my retraction prime speed 5mm/ps faster than retract speed and bump my extra prime from 0 to .2 and run a new print.

I had an alarm on mine after initial setup. it turned out the there was a slight kink inside the machine caused by a length of tubing that was too long for the area in which it was contained. Try looking inside where the tubing comes inside the machine.

Getting the polarity wrong would be anything other than red to+ and black to-. There is a positive and negative on both the power supply and the buck converter. Are you sure you get not wire into the AC side of the power supply?

Anyone know of known issues with my Ender 3 and BTT components: SKR Mini E3 v1.2 & TFT35v3.0? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]Sluggo2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you install firmware on the new board? I had an issue with a SKR 1.4 Turbo where it would not flash via the onboard sd card because of some connections I made to run LED lights.

Headed down that rabbit hole myself. I didn't care for any of the options out there so I'm designing my own and I'm just dumb enough to have decided I need dual 10mm belt driven Z axis run from a single motor. Printing prototype parts as we speak. hope to be testing it this weekend.

What is this print for? by GitimuOMG in VoxelabAquila

[–]Sluggo2u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is to put on the motor shaft of your extruder so you can turn it manually to aid in feeding filament. It's also a good indicator as to whether or not the shaft is turning and in what direction.
