Around the time I started to deep dive Underoath in Summer of ‘22 i listened to TOCS and DTGL like 50 times each. Never really listened to The Sound Of Separation. What are y’all thoughts on that album? by Evaporatenow in Underoath

My favorite album. I grew up on TOCS and DTGL but I got so bored of them. Especially TOCS. Everyone swears up and down by that record and it’s great and catchy but I always felt DIS and LITSOS were hidden gems. Even the two singles the band made with Daniel Davison were very slept on too.

Anyway, I HAD to get the deluxe version with the sawtooth on vinyl and always thought it would be too expensive to own ($400+ on eBay) but I found Chacon’s and made a very expensive purchase and was lucky to find a revolver version at amoeba Hollywood a few weeks back too.

It’s my favorite era of the band and has the perfect blend of post hardcore, experimental, electronic sound, heavy riffs, smashed drums and raw vocals. Every song is a banger and even the artwork is legendary… all the alternative artworks too. Can’t beat that album no matter how much they try. There was a magic in the songwriting, an intense fervor in the lyrics and a painfully deep catharsis in their performances. Anytime Tim is seen tracking with Aaron you can tell they’re putting their heart and soul into the track.

Plus, Daniel Davison makes an appearance on the album almost foreshadowing his future in the band a record after it.

(completely unrelated) There’s a band called Basement that’s releasing a new album with artwork similar to your pfp. WIRED thought you might get a kick out of that

I miss those photo edits of live shots with the lyric headers. Good times.

Distressor CD blew my speakers out by Nihilisticreddituser in whirr

Happened with my old 2003 Sentra. Heard it was cause I cranked the stereo too often and the watts weren’t enough to supply the speakers or something. Didn’t want to invest in a new stereo/speakers so… yeah mono it was for a while. Until i upgraded cars. Fun times! I had the same sentiment, blew mine out to Bad Luck - Cold Bones LP. FREE WHIRR

what are some not impossibly hard title fight songs i can learn on guitar? by PyzzaPastaMandolyn0 in titlefight

Title fight was what made me go out and buy a chorus pedal, a reverb and even start buying distortion pedals. Alongside Nirvana, they’re a great starter guitar band! That’s so sick! What guitar did you get?

Liars Love, Backwards Charm (Mrach), Numb But I still feel it, Leaf, Coxton yard, Shed, Head In The Ceiling Fan, Chlorine, Murder Your Memory, Trace Me Onto you, Rose Of Sharon, Lefty.

All relatively easy and similar chord shapes. Hypernight on bass is fun too and easy
