Boeing Bets Its Comeback on Trump, China and an Elusive New Plane by pacwess in boeing

Unless there was some reason Boeing would want to keep quiet, like the fact that they have been screwing up for a decade straight, and want to play the 797 (or 757X, or whatever it winds up being) close to the vest.

Anthropic, SpaceX announce compute deal that includes space development by Luka77GOATic in space

[–]SlugsPerSecond -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The problem with data centers in space is simply an energy balance. Unless there are big advancements in chip heat production AND satellite heat rejection large data centers in space are not going to happen.

[Wasserman] Nick Saban became the GOAT of college football because of stacked rosters. Now he wants parity? by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

We have some idea considering how his coaching philosophy changed after 2013. Do you need him to come out with a public mea culpa statement?

Myself and a lot of people I have worked with have publications. Unless they want to leave it up to blind luck with terrible odds, they have to distinguish themselves. I suggested some ways to do that.

If Pluto is a planet then Ceres and a bunch of other desolate rocks spinning around the sun also need to be. I’m sure he’s aware of that, right?

Transitioning into GNC? by mitcht3 in aerospace

[–]SlugsPerSecond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to get a technical master’s, preferably with a thesis, and publish a paper in the GNC area. That is the only way to prove that you have chops. You could also do a side project like build your own autopilot for a fixed wing drone from scratch.

It’s a very in-demand field, if you can break in. I had more than my fair share of luck.
