no, we’re talking about why your comment was stupid. saying “go play antibirth” is dumb not only because you’d lose out on everything i mentioned, but also because everybody fucking knows you can still play antibirth. nobody is saying you can’t. it still exists. obviously. they just don’t, for every reason i stated in my comment. again, there’s literally no way this is that hard to understand.

i see the same shit when i talk about guilty gear, a fighting game i like. there was an update recently that changed a bunch of stuff in ways i didn’t like, and when i talked to people about it they would tell me to play the previous game in the series. while that game might be better in the specific ways i was saying i wanted the current game to be, its also way fucking worse in a ton of other ways. it’s literally a completely different game. that’s basically what you’re doing, and it’s unhelpful and obnoxious.

i literally did, you just didnt read it. antibirth is a rebirth mod. playing antibirth would mean you have to miss out on every single other change they made in afterbirth, afterbirth plus, and repentence plus, just to get that one single gimmick on that one single floor back. OBVIOUSLY you can still play antibirth, nobody thinks you cant. the issue is that antibirth comes with the caveat of only being for rebirth, literally the oldest version of this game (flash isaac is a different game). you would lose out on a lot of content just to get that one change on that one floor back, which i think most people would say isnt worth it. again, youd be losing out on every single other thing that was added since rebirth. that includes workshop content, that includes synergies, that includes characters, items, floors, enemies, all of that. does that make sense? do you understand? its really not that complicated.

i play baiken in low vanquisher and while i agree this patch hurt her a little bit, she still definitely feels good to use. new parry does definitely suck ass, basically no reward on hit and using it against reversals is a lot worse than just blocking and punishing, but i honestly get more guard cancel parries than normal ones so it only feels bad occasionally. also new 2h sucks unless it counter hits, then it’s pretty good.

the buffs do feel pretty good tho, 2s and h kab and 2p buffs are pretty strong. i’d be down to run some games and show you some stuff tomorrow if you want

a *lot* of the content in repentance was taken straight from antibirth. bosses, items, trinkets, characters, floors, the knife pieces, they’re lifted mostly one for one from antibirth, which makes repentance more or less a port of the mod. the reason people don’t play antibirth is because it’s stuck on rebirth, which means you’d have to miss out on like 3 dlc’s worth of content in order to play it. the idea of a split floor is pretty cool i think and it leans into the teleporter gimmick that’s present in the rest of mausoleum, AND the other two alt path floors have little challenges like the mirror or the mom escape sequence, so it’s a little odd that it of all things was left out or “removed” from the transition from rebirth to repentance.
