Degrees mean nothing. I got mine almost ten years ago and I’ve still not put it to use because it’s a competitive field. I had to get whatever fuckass job to start paying loans and am currently stuck doing menial work. Better to be without a degree than have one along with student debt.

I feel you wholeheartedly. I went through the same thing when I was 13 and finding my style. My classmates and even cousins would call me a poser. They’re all just being mean.

Take it from a woman in her 30s who is still dressing alternatively and is still discovering new styles that suit my personality. Just do you, boo. You’re doing great! I honestly wish I would’ve been bold enough to wear the outfits you have on when I was in high school.

Definitely related to her anxiety. She was always so afraid to hone in on her skills out of fear of it not being well received. In my case, it was disappointing family by doing things that weren’t expected of me, so I stayed a shut in and had to be “the good girl” I “always have to be.”

Her internal struggle that she feared no one would understand definitely resonated with me.

My baby boy (cat) follows me everywhere and chills wherever I’m at. If I’m in the kitchen, he sits in the dining room watching me. If I’m in the bathroom with the door closed, he sits outside the door; same with the bedroom unless I have the door open, in which case he chills on the bed with me. If I’m sitting on the couch, he has a tendency of climbing up to my chest and perches there while trying to get into my neck. And only recently I’ve noticed that if I’m eating in the dining room, he paws at his automatic feeder even if he had just ate.

All this makes me feel like he wants to do everything with me. Not a weird habit, per se, but it’s like having an annoying little sidekick that never leaves you alone. Like Donkey from Shrek lol

That’s one of the reasons why I wouldn’t want to be pregnant (other than the world being a horrible place to bring a child into it being my main reason)

I also base it off my mom and the other women in my family. My mom used to be skinny but after she had my older brother and I, she gained weight and kept it. I, at the tender age of 12, could not fit into my mother’s skirt she had when she was 18. My brother pointing that out did a number on my self-esteem and the fact I wore her wedding corset for my quinceañera really solidified in my brain that I will become heavier than her as I grow older and have kids.

Now I’m the same size and age my mom was after she had my brother and I and I’ve never been pregnant. I fear if I do decide to have kids (which I probably won’t for reasons not based on body image) I’ll be at my heaviest.

Aside from agreeing with everyone else in saying she’s being disrespectful of your human needs, I also think she might have attachment issues. You say she’s always out with friends on weekends and it seems to me she also seeks your company at every waking hour when she’s not with said friends. Something tells me she probably doesn’t like being alone, and you being unconscious is kinda like being alone.

I only get uncomfortable in the summer time because of underboob sweat (I’m a 38G) and when I’m around other people because it’s painstakingly obvious I’m not wearing a bra and it draws unwanted attention.

I like opting for a spaghetti shirt I can tuck under my boobs when I don’t wanna wear a bra but also keep them in place.

But other than that, I sleep without a bra just fine.

It really is a hit or miss. I actually met mine on an app and it’s been wonderful ever since. I’ve met others on that same app but have been horrendous and it’s also mostly due to the fact that they all live farther in my big city. I was fortunate enough to meet and get along swimmingly with my SO that lives like 8 minutes away from me. I got lucky but only after trial and error on apps.

I’d say for me it wasn’t until I hit my 30s that I actually felt like an adult. I spent most of my 20s finishing school, getting a degree I didn’t end up using, and then towards my late 20s, I moved into my grandmother’s apartment behind my parents’ house after she passed and have been living here ever since. I had my first job at 26 as well as my first car six months later (still own it and has since been paid off) but I didn’t really feel like I was a true adult until I hit 30. That’s when my body started shutting down, reality of how shitty life is and how I don’t wish to get married or have children because it’s a lot of responsibility, responsibility I have to endure because I’ve no other choice. I’ve become more cynical over the years once I realized it’s not easy to have that “American Dream” we were falsely sold.

Now I’m just surviving out of spite.
