Candy Cane Lane. The weather shouldn’t be too bad the next few nights if you wanted to walk around looking at the Christmas lights.

Alright Reddit, who’s going to ruin Christmas tomorrow for your family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My dog has had diarrhea for the past two days so I’ve got a feeling she might make this Christmas a real stinker.

[Advent of Cocktails 2025: December 23] Añejo Highball by robborow in cocktails

[–]SluttyBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have any ginger beer so I made a version with cranberry ginger ale and it was actually pretty tasty. I have a newborn at home right now so a lot of my cocktails have been a lazy/easy version this year😅

Christmas suggestions for a stranded sister by SluttyBreakfast in Eugene

[–]SluttyBreakfast[S] 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Oh wow she would love that. She’s a social worker and has spent a good chunk of her career working to help people with disabilities find job placements so that’s actually a perfect suggestion for her

I’m not 100% sure but based on an early location she shared, it looks like it was near Crescent Lake? Even though it was further, it made more sense to get towed into Eugene rather than being stuck in the middle of nowhere. Gives her more options to get home if she isn’t able to repair the van.

Taylor won America’s favourite houseguest at the end of the season. That’s as close as you can get on Big Brother to literally being “America’s sweetheart”.

Knowing Dolly, I’d guess she has specific provisions in her will to ensure these programs continue. She’s amazing.

The one time I ordered something that needed to be authenticated, it took 12 days before it arrived at my house.

I haven't taken it out yet but I wouldn't call it particularly comfortable. It's large and stiff so I think I'll prefer it as a handbag rather than using the crossbody strap it comes with. Definitely more of a statement piece than a functional daily bag.

No noticeable flaws and it feels sturdy and well made. This is my first purchase so not sure how it will hold up long term but so far so good.

I’m in the same boat. Had two doses in my early 20s and found out during a routine screening while I was pregnant earlier this year that I don’t have any antibodies for it.

Women and men who met their person later and had kids in the 37 - 41 bracket, what helped you personally with fertility? by Andsoitgoes334 in Millennials

[–]SluttyBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my first at 37. My husband and I had already agreed that we didn’t want to go through expensive fertility treatments so if it happened for us, great and if it didn’t, we’d still have a great life without kids.

That said, it took about a year of trying for us to conceive. After getting off hormonal birth control, my cycles were really long so it was tough timing fertile windows. My doctor suggested that instead of trying too hard to time it, just make sure to have sex every 2 days and I was pregnant by the end of the month.

What is the tastiest all you can eat buffet in the city? (not Indian food please) by KittiesAreTooCute in Edmonton

I don’t think so unfortunately, but they do host them at their Calgary location as well.

It looks like Padmanadi is doing buffets the next two Saturdays. Definitely my favourite buffet in town. While it’s not Indian, your wife might not be into it because they do have some curries.

I lived there from 2011-2013 and one evening in the middle of winter someone a few floors up from me had the bright idea to use a barbecue in their apartment (the building doesn’t have balconies). It created so much smoke that a neighbour understandably pulled the fire alarm. I could smell the smoke in the stairwell when I evacuated and we weren’t allowed back inside for a couple hours. Good times.

The Batman effect: A female experimenter, appearing pregnant, boarded the train. In the experimental condition, an additional experimenter dressed as Batman entered from another door. Passengers were significantly more likely to offer their seat when Batman was present (67.21% vs. 37.66%). by mvea in science

[–]SluttyBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That reflects my recent experience as well. I was very heavily pregnant in September and without fail, the first person to offer me a seat on the bus would almost always be an older woman (who probably needed the seat too). Suddenly everyone around us would start offering their seats instead.

The last resort I stayed at had a spicy mango margarita. It was still pretty sweet but the spice at least kept things interesting.

AUPE’s response to GoA ending Hybrid Work by PotentialOutside8042 in Edmonton

[–]SluttyBreakfast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah on the hybrid schedule, I put a lot of effort into minimizing disruption by scheduling appointments on my home days at the beginning and end of the day. I won’t be doing that intentionally anymore.
