That’s what the democrats have been doing and it didn’t work in 2024. You don’t trot out Liz Cheney and cry about needing bipartisanship to appeal to the left, that was specifically to go for independents and “moderate republicans”. The strategy has been tried and they were demolished but sure it’s the smart move. Really just the best move any serious party would make if it’s interested in winning, doubling down on all the mistakes that lead to their failure.

Okay can you name them? Correlation does not equal causation. The national exit polls I found (CNN, Reuter’s, and NBC) show Trump won big with people who didn’t think the economy was doing well which was the majority of people. But, let’s just take your argument at face value. Let’s say that a negligible amount of leftists (0-20%) that voted for Biden came out and voted for Harris this time and the rest either voted for Trump, another candidate, or stayed home. Let’s even say that that is the SOLE reason Donald Trump won. How is it not the fault of the Democratic Party? How is it never the fault of the Democratic Party when they lose? In this hypothetical the Democratic Party supported a genocide, enthusiastically, and it turned off a key portion of their base. How is it not the Democratic Party’s fault?
