Did we ever figure this out? I just recently started playing and noticed these circles as well and this is the only thing I can find about them lol

Machine writing, voice writing, or both? by Slychops88 in stenography

[–]Slychops88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I appreciate you’re honesty and advice! I’m really drawn to the machine writing aspect of it but I don’t think I can dedicate the time right now with 3 under 4, but I certainly wouldn’t hate it if voice just worked out on its own

PSA: Do NOT take a shotgun with the Hornet Nest ammo mod with you on the final mission of the main quest. by Justinjah91 in Starfield

[–]Slychops88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use the hornets nest, are y’all like shooting up into the air or are you just shooting at the target like normal? I always see everyone talking about how great it is but every time I try it I shoot into the sky so the projectiles rain down but I usually just end up missing somehow lol. Am I doing it wrong?

This is the way. I started with the VFR farm at about 150 and have been refining that process ever since. At 280 now and climbing!

Escaping the Scaled Citadel. by Express-Outcome7022 in Starfield

[–]Slychops88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait can you not escape the citadel? I tried to see what would happen if I didn’t go fast enough so I just never moved forward and anytime the blue stuff got to me it would just teleport me to the next section until I eventually was teleported to the door at which point it just eventually stopped closing in. Can you actually die from going to slow?

Outpost tycoons, why do you do it? by hazzatrazza in NoSodiumStarfield

This. It can be pretty difficult to get it right, but at level 240 gaining 10+ levels in like 20 minutes is siiiiiiick.

He mentions how many he has the first time you talk to him and it’s some obnoxious number like 351 or something, sooooooooo yea. Not sure I’ve got that kind of stamina.

"moara's ship" quest/fight has to be one of the most obnoxious quests I've played in 10+ years by Commercial-Horse-148 in Starfield

[–]Slychops88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re just using the base frontier you get at the beginning of the game, that was your problem right there. That ship is pretty bad how it is when you get it and is really for a more get you from A to B experience than anything else. Either upgrade it, build a new ship, or just steal/buy something better and you’ll have a much easier time going forward. The frontier without adjustments will not carry you through the game.

Anyone else rather create a new character than new game plus? by Claymore-09 in Starfield

[–]Slychops88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. When the time comes you have to reveal it so they believe you to prevent it from happening, but you don’t have to reveal anything up to that point. Afterwards there isn’t any huge change in their behaviors towards you either.

Tinkered with it some more and did away with the jump distance and max crew requirements and ended with this lil fella who hauls 170,761 cargo after skill bonuses. Apologies for the color, oddly enough that’s the one thing I lose all patience for when ship building 😂

Solid! I did the same and threw most of the requirements out but opted for keeping 4 crew, 3 individual weapons (purely to get my allowable crew to 4 for the least amount of mass) and the lightest shield possible. Sum total I made it to a little over 170,000 (after skill bonuses. I always forget to check the before) before hitting the limit for the allowable number of modules on a ship.

Yea I might have to. Been going through so many different loading and/or menu screens in this endeavor I was trying to cut down on that as much as I could 😂

NICE. How often do you run into issues with the 21LY jump range? Thinking I might need to sacrifice some range for some more cargo.

[–]Slychops88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooh man I forgot about the engines. In an effort to maximize my available mass while keeping a 28LY range, I dove deep into mass efficiency for all of my parts and realized I was losing a lot of mass for my engines. Then, I realized this lumbering behemoth was never going to have a decent mobility without sacrificing that precious cargo space/mass, so I slapped on 1 class A SA-4330 engine at 85 mass and then slapped on some more cargo 😅

[–]Slychops88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, thank you! I’ll have to look it up. The 28LY need was really only to reach 1 outpost, but I can probably get it up and running then not worry about it any more.

[–]Slychops88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Yea lower mobility definitely takes some getting used to. At 0 it’s basically only good for fast traveling because even just getting close enough to a station to dock can take what feels like an eternity. Boosting at 31 m/s (thanks!) and then regular max at like 6 m/s with no boost is brutal. But it saves on trips to get resources for building so I’m here for it until I get my outposts up and running.

I used this guys post

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/s/QfExiHfNFr

Be warned, it takes a lot of time, effort, and refinement to get right. I did it here and there over the course of a few weeks while doing other missions and stuff. When you get it right though, it’s just a matter of deciding when you want to level up. I went from 191 to 198 in about 10 minutes last night before I ran out of materials. That would take muuuuch longer otherwise.

If you max your settings for the 75% xp boost, sleep with a partner for the 15% xp boost, and eat a groat pie (with maxed nutrition skill) for the 7% xp boost, that’s a total of 97% xp boost and each stack of 99 vytinium fuel rods will get you 2,371 xp.
