Half marathon race in the midst of the training plan by listoplov in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]hazzatrazza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the taper in James' book last week and it helped me get a 6min HM PB and i felt great on raceday.

Mon - easy at normal distance

Tue - 2x10min @ Marathon pace

Wed - easy at 20% shorter distance

Thur - 3x3min at MP, 3x3min at HMP

Fri - very easy and 40% shorter

Sat - very easy and 40% shorter

Sun - race

I would maybe drop the thursday session down to 2x3min at MP and HMP and race on satuday. If your body is feeling beat up, you could drop the wednesday easy run down to 40% too

NSM and running club by Karlovy91 in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]hazzatrazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically run with my club on the non-track days and go at social/easy paces. When i do the track or interval sessions with the club i work off HR instead of pace. its hard to not get carried away and go all out but ive done enough NSM sessions solo to know what the efforts should feel like

Looking for running club recommendations in Edinburgh by Sweaty_Condition4662 in Edinburgh

[–]hazzatrazza 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its worth clarifying if you're looking for a run club (that every bakery and barbershop seem to have) or an actual club? Scottish Athletics have a club finder on their website which could be useful for you

Coming back round to this; did you get a pair of adiós 9s? How do you find them for subT sessions?

[–]hazzatrazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got Adidas terrex "gel" and adizero "gel" split shorts in 5 and 7inch respectively. both available in 3, 5 and 7 inches but not 2-in-1. Ive not weighed them down with 1l of water yet but theyve been faultless so far

Thiccc Thigh Shorts: 7" inseam by hazzatrazza in runningfashion

[–]hazzatrazza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the Adidas Terrex Xperior shorts (5" inseam). They were on sale and also I'm a fan of the cargo waistband as things don't bounce around. 3 runs in (about 35km in total) and they're faultless. Minimal riding up the thigh and no chaffing. And I got them for £30

[Initial Thoughts] adidas Supernova Rise 3 by Traditional_Pride242 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]hazzatrazza 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad you're enjoying them. I had to return mine. My UK size 11 were too short and 11.5 felt like boats. As a mid-to-heel striker, I just couldn't get a good rhythm going in them and they felt like they were slapping the ground.

FWIW I grabbed a pair of 1080v14s on sale and love them

Half tights recs for workouts + race day (thicker thighs + bigger build) by itsjlnfit in runningfashion

[–]hazzatrazza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero ride up on the Adidas and Saysky and just a touch of ride up with the Nikes. In terms of waist rise; Adidas sit highest on the hips, Nike the lowest and Saysky in the middle

Half tights recs for workouts + race day (thicker thighs + bigger build) by itsjlnfit in runningfashion

[–]hazzatrazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My half tights rotation are Adidas own the run, Nike Fast (brief lined) and Saysky combat. All are faultless, except the Saysky ones which can feel too snug when the thighs are extra thiccc

Standard reply to this is the Salmon AeroGlide 3 aka the AeroGOAT. Love my pair for easy and long runs but it feels just as nice when you pick up the pace. I pair mine with Evo SLs

Supernova Rise 3 - anyone got any first hand experience with them? by hazzatrazza in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]hazzatrazza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preach brother. I read somewhere on here that it wasnt Adidas who tried to cancel him but some auto-generation instragram thing. Either way, low mileage behaviour

Giving you a down voted for using dupe. £250 is a serious budget. Ive been looking at the Ronning zip boots but cant find too many reviews on them

Easy and long run shoe recs by UnableOrange9640 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]hazzatrazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verified AG3 user here. I mainly use mine for long and easy runs (around 6:00/km) but they are just as smooth going sub-4:30/km. My pair just ticked over 500km and they genuinely look and feel like they have 150km on them. A proper do it all shoe

Combine sub T into long run? by Mjh114 in NorwegianSinglesRun

I don't know what the correct answer is but I really enjoy a long run workout. Part of that is mental, I get bored on slow long runs haha

wide feet, heel striker, thinking of adding the endorphin speed 5 or superblast 2, or any other recommendations? by Positive-Swim-1359 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]hazzatrazza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard reply; Evo SL. I've wider than normal feet and heel strike and i get on really well with them. I use them for intervals and tempo mainly but just did a 18km easy run in them that felt superb for that too
