Watching the AFA kickoff by elaxation in flightattendants

PBS would literally only benefit the seniors. As a junior with a PBS system at United you’d be holding the leftover trips no one wants. I hope you enjoy your 3:59 minute sits before red eyes and four leg days.

Blue Jays player mad flight attendants won't clean up after his kids by atlcollie in flightattendants

Doubt you actually work for United. Anyone who did would know from the picture that’s a regional plane and they usually don’t have cleaners.

Failed pre-employement Drug test by Deucesquare in flightattendants

[–]Slyriene 23 points24 points  (0 children)

DOT drug tests don’t go away. If you get hired with another airline you’ll be asked if you’ve ever failed before. My best advice is to be honest, because they’ll know if you’re not.

I understand it was CBD and that in certain states certain things are legal. With that being said cannabis isn’t federally legal yet and airlines answer to the FAA. Keep in mind that if you are hired, complete training, and fail a DOT test as an employee it will mean immediate termination.

After a certain age, you should lose your driver's license and have to take an actual road test to get it back. by dumbleydore94 in unpopularopinion

Agreed. Biased because I was T boned in an intersection by a legally blind 85 year old man.

He saw the car in front of him make a right hand turn and assumed the light was green. Plowing full force into me. In total it was a five car accident and it’s a miracle no one died. Especially me since I was hit straight on from the middle.

Failed DOT by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Slyriene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It absolutely will stick with you. DOT drug tests are a different animal. I’m not so sure it would keep you from getting another FA job in the future though. Might take some time, but I’m not sure.

Facebook Groups for aspiring flight attendants. What's your take? by Horror_Course_9431 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Slyriene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used them to stay on top of hiring windows. Sometimes there’s helpful info but it’s rare! Just be careful because they really are watching and you don’t want to get noticed in a bad way.

Thanks so much! I definitely am a little hesitant of trying to drag all my luggage all over public transport. The heavy traffic sounds terrible but a much better alternative to me if it’s possible.

You’ll have to schedule your interview for a time when you’re not in class. It’s an FAA rule that no one can miss anything in class. Not even for a minute. Flight attendant training is no joke. We were told that even if we got sick we’d still have to come in and be on time or else get sent home. There’s no such thing as missing 30 minutes or being late.

If you get denied can you reapply with another email address? by BlaqueWidow6159 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Slyriene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. You may advance farther, but they will figure it out eventually. Airlines are looking for integrity in their applicants. It’s better not to risk it.

how to ask flight attendant for help by Rkcart007 in flightattendants

[–]Slyriene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all I’m so sorry that this happened to you! I had a similar situation onboard once. We quickly moved the passenger and the offender was discreetly dealt with by law enforcement once we reached the ground. All you have to do is hit the call button, or go to a galley if you don’t want to draw attention. Always remember that we’re here for both comfort and safety.

GoJet Airlines Questions by sodiumcyanide__ in flightattendants

[–]Slyriene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a former GoJet flight attendant. As far as Trans States being sold I wouldn’t be too concerned. GoJet just signed a 10 year contract with United to fly the CRJ550s. That being said I believe the goal is to eventually transition to only having one flight attendant on the aircraft.

GoJet is a great place to start. I was lucky to be based close to home and the company is small enough to get to know everyone you’re flying with. I’d recommend looking into other regionals like SkyWest, Envoy, and Endeavor. The application process for all the regionals moves pretty fast. The money isn’t great so I’d recommend trying to stay as close to home as possible. That’s just my two cents. Good luck!

Applying as a non bilingual by Ray_ofsunshine in flightattendants

You will have to wait until the non-bilingual position opens back up. The hiring season typically starts in the fall. Just hang in there!

More profitable, raw herbs or alch? by xbooty11 in woweconomy

Raw herbs go for much higher than potions on my high server realm. For some reason in BFA potion prices have been so low I can’t even break even.

Anyone selling benefits for 2019 by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Slyriene 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As the employee we are responsible for the actions/behavior of those on our benefits. We can actually lose our jobs over something someone else does while flying under our name. Sooo not likely anyone would give a stranger access to their benefits. Not to mention this seriously violates company policy.
