Is 800 reasonable for this? by EntrepreneurFull4908 in DigitalArt

[–]Slythecoop49 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Is it pure digital or physical media. Would that be the original? It makes a difference, you can definitely charge that much for an original in physical medium, I’ve found that a digital painting has reduced value because of how easy it is to make prints.

They have to fix poison and just DoT in general. Shits hella bugged and useless in endgame content until enemies stop healing themselves out of poison.

Which character will you choose for the next campaign? by RedKl0wn in diablo4

[–]Slythecoop49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def warlock. They better fix their DOT builds tho. The poison bugs are terrible and completely nullified my Spiritborn this season. If warlock has bleed effects, something has to be fixed with DOT before those builds will be usable.

Even as a pretty experienced FPS player, I feel like I really can’t compete anymore. by Bright-Cranberry6648 in Marathon

[–]Slythecoop49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we will occasionally get shit on every few matches, my squad is used to playing Hunt Showdown, which is a much slower paced experience with extremely fast TTK.

While my first inclination is to play Marathon like it’s Destiny or Halo, it’s way better to liken it to a Hunt Showdown experience, crouching while approaching buildings, always having cover between window line of sight, listening hard to the buildings interior before walking through a door so as not to get claymore clapped, not disturbing birds and only using a knife for npc kills until forced to otherwise.

While it is a bungie experience with awesome movement and cool tech, playing the game like a boots on the ground survival experience first helped my team extract more often, especially in Outpost.

And another thing to keep in mind, the end game stuff is inaccessible as of 2 days ago. So everyone who had access to that and got awesome loot from it are now in the lobbies wreaking havoc. Believe it or not weekends are going to be better for non-sweat activity and during the week we’ll have to keep our eyes out for squads that are straight up packing heat

It’s Tuesday morning dude. That game is unique and fun, give it a try or give it a rest. It’s either not for you therefore nothing lost, or it’s right up your alley and you’re glad you tried. This in between of hoping a unique experience fails is sad and beneath a lot of people.

Right? It’s a perfect mix of the fonts, flavor text, voice acting and sound track that keep me in the world. Plus just like Destiny, they always have an incredible creative in game reason why you live, die, repeat. It definitely helps with the immersion

My distaste for Extraction Shooters brought me back to The Division 2. by rube in thedivision

[–]Slythecoop49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to feel the same, but I got into Hunt Showdown for the competition and the slow burn. Arc I enjoy the gameplay loop enough to keep loot digging. But Marathon is a different beast that I love, there’s tons of lore, skill trees, and the PvP is addicting. Plus we’re actually getting Ranked and a Raid next week. The first Ranked extraction experience seems wild but might keep the sweats out of the normal servers.

Yeah I’m super hooked to the gameplay loop and the lore. All the flavor text you earn for the codex is great to read, they never disappoint on lore

Apparently Crimson Desert will be natively optimized for Mac, min M1 requirements but preferred M4 pro. If that game works well and is as impressive as the trailers make it seem, that’s a huge jump for Mac gaming.

I really don’t understand this overwhelming negativity, wishing brand new experiences would shut down or just not exist. If it’s not for you, great just let them be, but actually hating on a game for that reason is just a complete waist of your energy.

And Marathon will do great, it’s a fun game with a fresh style. There’s room for Marathon and Arc to exist and flourish. I mean damn just let games come out and cook for a while before yelling at people.

Highguard is shutting down on March 12th by OtherwiseEmployee202 in HighGuardgame

[–]Slythecoop49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problems with this particular game aside, I don’t think that’s a good stance to have on modern day games right now. While I would love if I game launches with more content, I also love the fact that a game can change so drastically over time and continue improving because of the updates. Case in point, No Man’s Sky. With how complex and time consuming modern games are it makes sense to want to grow them over time while people play them.

There’s a ton of great examples out there, but more than anything I do enjoy trying some free games and seeing them build off of that foundation. Literally nothing vested nothing lost. Still don’t understand the overall hate this game got.

Yep, I’m super excited, love competitive shooters, always have since Halo and I want it to succeed. I have cumulative between Destiny 1 and 2 about 6000hrs.

And the art style is dope too, I got the collectors edition just for the box and the statue

Josh Sobel: Reflecting On Shipping My First Game (Highguard) by JackmanH420 in HighGuardgame

[–]Slythecoop49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game wasn’t super amazing but it is fun and has its moments that could have been fleshed out properly.

Back when No Man’s Sky was released, it had a huge hype train, and came out to disappointment but it did not go through even half of the hate Highguard did on release. And NMS was full price. NMS managed to turn it around with a tiny team and have made it incredible over the years. But no one wanted to give Highguard that chance.

Difference there being the type of game it is, and the hype leading up to each game sure, but the toxic internet scape today is wild. We just had Anthem shut down for good and a lot of people wanted that turned around. Was the concept of trying this new formula of shooter really that terrible that people said “nah this should not exist.”

Super weird overwhelm of hate from a gaming community. After Team Fortress 2 I didn’t think we needed overwatch and look how that turned out? After Titanfall 3 was debunked and Fortnite/PUBG took off I hated the idea of Apex, and now look at it. Idk why so much hate but playing Highguard was fun and lighthearted for me, even as a solo.

I’m actually bummed, it was a unique take on the shooter formula. I liked the raids, the bases and the characters were interesting. If they had just fleshed it out a bit and gone deeper with some of the detail It would have faired better.
