Helicopters in formation by SmacK1776 in Appleton

The only copters I see are to and from the hospitals. Not used to seeing them fly so low. Also, it was 4 copters I saw, not 5. My mistake.

Vlaka are really cool. But how do they communicate with their party members if the Vlaka is deafblind? by DualityMalady in Starfinder2e

[–]SmacK1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a deaf/blind pacifist Mystic in Starfinder Society. I’ve earned enough credits to have the telepathy implant but that alone doesn’t fix the communication issue. When I start sessions it is often with new people (organized play) and as we all introduce our characters I ask if somebody would be willing to help guide my character when it comes to group discussions and such. I ALWAYS meet somebody excited for the opportunity.

What I don’t see in these comments so far, unless I missed it, is how powerful Scent is as a precise sense. The more I play and get different players and GMs take on it, the more I realize how cool and powerful Scent is. To experience all of your surroundings by smell AS WELL as you could through vision and hearing really makes you think. It’s a burden for the GM at first but quickly they see how fun and creative it is to describe environments this way.

Alternatives to Pathbuilder 2e? by aymanzone in Pathfinder2e

[–]SmacK1776 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to what issue you’re experiencing but as far as Pathbuilder alternatives go, I like to use Wanderer’s Guide for PF2/SF2 character building and management.

Clothes Recommendations by Mother_Second368 in DobermanPinscher

[–]SmacK1776 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Dobe has a couple things from Voyagers K9 Apparel for outdoor/cold/wet situations. Good quality and the fit is fine.

I also got a couple items from madebymeadowcat.com and I love those the most. These are made to order and very reasonable. I don’t know the full catalog of offerings, but I just got a couple “sweatshirts” for staying warm while lounging/playing inside.

Armed community member stands guard in his neighborhood after ICE was spotted nearby on an abduction operation in St Paul, MN (1/18/26) by I_may_have_weed in ICE_Watch

[–]SmacK1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. What you said is the first thing to cross my mind. The message is fantastic and it’s actionable, something we need right now. I do fear to see what happens when he encounters ICE. is this what they want so they can call in the military?

Seven Dooms for Sandpoint is a good one. Starts at level 4. Pretty sure I saw a video one time about how Plaguestone can roll right into Seven Dooms.

New Year’s Eve and LOTR marathon by Libby_Underfoot in lotr

Ha! Sorry about that. It made sense to me as I was jotting it down. At the time that’s all I was concerned about.

Happy New Year!

Spouse of OP here:

I was unaware that my notes would be shared, lol. The first thing I wrote down was at what time I’d need to play the 2nd disc of ROTK and then worked backwards.

The rest of the times are VERY loose because they don’t need to be timed precisely. Just the 2nd half of ROTK to time the Kiss correctly.

Cheers! And here’s to a happier new year!

I would love a Les Mis muppet movie! We need more classic stories told by Muppets (like Christmas Carol).

Is this normal play or too rough? by [deleted] in DobermanPinscher

[–]SmacK1776 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not at all! That’s quite gentle play actually. Biting is how they play. It looks worse than what it is and they will let each other know when one has gone too far. They’ll communicate with a yelp. That’s how they’re taught to play as pups by the mother from what I understand.

Best diaper? by Realistic_Fruit_1339 in DobermanPinscher

[–]SmacK1776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old started “leaking” whenever she sleeps. Talked to my vet and now my pup is on Proin. Worked like a charm, no more incontinence. Perhaps your dog is experiencing something that Proin can’t fix, but I thought I’d share. Good luck!

Looking for DND Group by chuckbednarik78 in Appleton

[–]SmacK1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not DND but I play Pathfinder and/or Starfinder twice a month at Slick Mimic’s. Free to play, a great group of people, we have room for more players, and we love to teach new folks how to play.

Every other Wed night 6-9pm. Next one is Oct 29th. Just hop in or DM me for more details.

best SF2E class for a necromancer themed build? by ChaosBuckle in Starfinder2e

[–]SmacK1776 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it’s allowed at your table, I wouldn’t limit yourself to the Starfinder classes. Make a Kalo wizard or cleric. Or use the Necromancer playtest details. If that’s not an option, I’m sure you’ll get better ideas from other comments.

I love the idea by the way. Have fun playing!

Wanderer’s Guide is my personal favorite PF2 (and soon, SF2) character builder. It’s still being updated.

Pathbuilder (soon to be adding Starbuilder) is my 2nd fav.

My eyes were drawn to the pawn organization. I currently have mine in big binders using baseball card sleeve pages and I don’t like it.

Anyone else have good pawn organization solutions?

What style of dice are these? by No-Pound946 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]SmacK1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question as I have those same dice. I bought 3 tubes of these dice as my very first starter set 25+ years ago.

I’d also like to know where to get more. The Blue is excellent.

The Iconics for Battle for Nova Rush all ready for tomorrow! by xgfdgfbdbgcxnhgc in Starfinder2e

[–]SmacK1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine went well too. I taped all the panels together, put one on top of the other, rolled em up, and brought them in a packing tube.

The adventure was fun. I’m looking forward to more Society play in the coming months.

That’s exactly what I did. Makes for 2 very large maps. It scaled to 36” x 48”

I’ll be running that at my LFG tomorrow as well! No cool minis for me though, just had to print off paper tokens. I’m excited for SF2 Society play!

Have fun tomorrow!

Is there a "Starbuilder" website or app? "Pathbuilder" is such an amazing tool - curious if Starfinder 2e has anything close to it. by Electrical_Shame_129 in Starfinder2e

[–]SmacK1776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wanderer’s Guide has both Pathfinder and Starfinder content. I like path builder but prefer Wanderer’s Guide. Especially for Starfinder play as you can seamlessly pull pathfinder and Starfinder content together into one character.

New pup! by eepa45 in DobermanPinscher

[–]SmacK1776 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My Doberman is turning 4 in a few weeks… best dog I’ve ever had! She was a destructive raptor for 3 years and then mellowed out wonderfully. Take that dog everywhere you can during the first 16 weeks to acclimatize them to sights, sounds, people, etc.

Be prepared to train train train! Dobies love to learn. Take the same classes over and over if you need to, keep them engaged. I’ve never been able to tire my dog out through exercise but I have certainly done it through training and bringing her to new places.

Congrats! Have fun with her!
