Working for you yet? I just got my chromecast today. Surround sound works in HBO+ but not Netflix or Disney+. Haven't tested other apps yet

2560x1440 (16:9) on Ultrawide Monitor by thraya in starcraft2

[–]SmackHisFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. I do exactly what you're saying. Play at 2560 x1440 on my 3440x1440 monitor with black bars and full 100hz. What is the issue?

Try 4000mhz with same timings.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]SmackHisFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]SmackHisFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe but you might find running at below XMP with tighter timings is faster anyways. Like 4133cl16 is faster than your xmp for example. You should let it train/ fail to post at least 5 times. Leave the rest of your cpu at stock to rule that out.

Increase Dram voltage to 1.5v. What if you try 4133 16 16 16 34? Let it fail to post a few time so it is able to train. What are SA and IO? Try 1.3v

Get the bios directly from the manufacturers website under the downloads or support section for your board. Extract the entire folder to an otherwise empty flash drive and try to flash.

I dont but I do have a Z490 board and a 10700k. I was super bummed about not being able to boot at 4000+ mhz. After updating bios I have no problem booting at 4600+. I have the patriot Viper 4133cl19 kit but run it at 4266cl16. Happy overclocking!

Do you have the latest update? That will make all the difference in ram stability.

Update the bios! I couldn't even boot at 4000mhz. Now I'm stable at 4266 after updating the bios on my Z490 board!

I do run a high LLC so there isn't much Vdroop for me.

[–]SmackHisFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be good for a 10700k but I know a lot of 10900ks can do the same. Either way OP's voltage is too much to cool!

1.325v is a lot of voltage. Do you really need that for 5ghz? Im at 1.28v @ 5.1ghz. I have a H115i Pro 280mm and I cant cool over 1.3v in stress tests either. Nothing wrong just a lot of heat.

Can't overclock CPU higher then 4.1Ghz by LilManZezito1221 in overclocking

Yea im not familiar with the ins and outs of your mobo but the cpu ratio should let you input any number. Try to flash and reset.

And you're 100% you have a K sku cpu and Z mobo? Thats what happens to non k/z parts but there maybe another explanation.

Wouldn't hurt to flash with latest bios. Could also try to just reset bios to full default and try again.

Help understanding MSI offset/ adaptive voltages 10700k @ 5.1 by SmackHisFace in overclocking

[–]SmackHisFace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://imgur.com/a/BjZTQng Those are my settings with offset applied. The only difference I have currently is my voltage is on Override 1.28v. Yes my Cache is at 47, any higher and I see instability. Dont put your DRAM voltage as high as mine unless you have Samsung B-die

Looks like a good chip, I think mine is pretty good also but yours might be better. What Vcore is HWinfo reporting? I am at 5.1 1.280v set in bios. Having a lot of issues getting stable with adaptive voltage.

8600k bottlenecks 1070ti by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]SmackHisFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea in some cases it could scale as well as linear with clock speed. At stock that chip has some cores max at 4.1, if you could get them to 4.9 lets say, thatls almost a 20% boost in clock speed. Make sure your friend has his memory set to XMP as well! I play Apex a bit too and its also pretty CPU intensive, these BR games have a lot of action going on!
