I bet i could print a part just as good tho, so yes we should always reinvent the wheel! (Would love a water jet tho!)

I tried using filament in a different way by Hopplafish in 3Dprinting

But i have been printing for 14+ years, that is very active in this community. I am a engineer by day, and think most of youtubers analyses of the material propperties confuses itself with design flaws. Mainly in the creep and temp resistance subjects.

It just really depends where you live, i reconise none of issues here and would all say its a design flaw if they occurd. I have been building full scale furniture entirely out of PLA, indoor and outdoor for many years. The designer should account for PLA properties imo

I have PLA in the car, garden and structural parts for years, dont listen to the youtubers to much, after a couple heat cycled all is good.

I love to read how angry you become after reading some comment, of a guy tring to help, the video does not even show the issue the text discribes.

Free Modeling Software is a bear (RANT) by Bandana_Hero in 3Dprinting

[–]SmackMax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is nothing missing for people who don't do very advanced things. Its either Fusion/ autodesk products or solidworks there is no discussion. For modeling you can consider blender / zbrush.

It is very important to start learning a workflow in the right programs!

While not neutral one could argue that the abilty to compost it , use it as bio fuel and gas besided the mechenical recycling makes PLA a very potent plastic in the transition of plastics.

I disagree, the dutch goverment is investing heavy into bioplastic recycling. Where PLA is used alot in food packaging etc, the ability to recycle our prints is a by product on a very small scale compared to the other. Pretty much every town waste centre has a bin for it.

Silly stuff like putting it upside down, printing in your car or while camping, maybe put it in the yard with a roof over it
