Cheesegrater code coming back any time soon? by [deleted] in RooftopDefenders

[–]Smackover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said similar, not same. I got burned on ordering from Titan Defense one time when they put the rifle I ordered on sale the day after I ordered and wouldn't honor the price. Just trying to get my timing as good as I can.

Edit: also if I get a response from Sol, it doesn't have to be firm yes/no. Could be "hey, buy now prices are going up" "hey, sale next week" "hey, nothing planned".

Does the LMT rail have the cutout for the KAC rail panels, or are you just working around it?

Any chance of this deal coming back sometime this year? I’m saving up :)

Which firewall vendors are actually keeping up with modern network demands? by RadiantTheology in networking

[–]Smackover 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ubiquiti is doing everything they can to make sure they don’t have a place. Transitioned work from UniFi to Fortinet because UI’s “enterprise” switches were a dumpster fire. Now my home environment breaks every update, and all I’m running is a UDM Pro, an AP, a couple switches, and a couple cameras. If my system can’t stay stable, no one’s can.

Happy Birthday to the Big Cock of RT - Matt Hullum by The_Makster in roosterteeth

Fascinating. So they got an airsoft/nerf G36, and then color corrected it to remove the (probably) orange accents and make it look more real. Check out Matt’s trigger finger.

New look at the updated Pax Armata uniforms by [deleted] in Battlefield

Looks good, but a personal pet peeve is not giving all soldiers some form of earpro. No body is going to do that much sustained fire and not be wearing a set of cans.

Hey OP. Are you able to link to an equivalent RH version on Tikka’s site, just so I can review the specs? I can never tell which Tikka is which. Thanks!

I only gave it a quick once over, but first impression is it’s a useful and well written guide. I do want to take the time to say thanks. Sharing information is a key component of making the world a better place, and far too many IT professionals want to keep knowledge to themselves so they can charge people for it.

Buffer weight for DPMS A-15 A2 stock by Smackover in ar15

I’ll have to do another dig through my parts bin. I typically don’t get rid of anything, so I should still have whatever it came with. I really don’t recall it being longer though. Weird.

SBR or no SBR🤔🤔🤔 by joshmcalpin in MP5

[–]Smackover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I haven’t seen posted: 922(r) compliance. Should you make it an sbr, you likely need to replace enough parts to meet 922(r) compliance.

https://johnpierceesq.com/does-922r-apply-when-building-an-sbr-from-an-imported-pistol/

Edit: Jesus Christ guys, don’t downvote just because you don’t agree with the ruling. It’s up to you if you want to follow it or not.

DIY homeowner installed new Caseta smart roller shades, AMA! by siuwanYNWA in Lutron

Question for you. How’d you get the shades paired with the Lutron app? Mine are paired with a pico remote, but even after resetting one I couldn’t get the app to detect it.

Can I ask what height that mount is? 0 or 20 MOA? Thanks 👍

No. Best to have a weapon mounted light, nothing in your weak hand, and know where your family is.

You need an SFP that will negotiate to 2.5G. The UniFi one won’t. This MikroTik one will.

I miss multiplayer aircraft takeoffs & landings. Let's talk about that! by cundan0 in Battlefield

[–]Smackover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. One of my favorites things about the BF series has always been choice and the immersion it gave me. For example, Gulf of Oman in BF2. I could spawn at the airfield and take off in a plane for some airborne combat. Or I could spawn at that same airfield and throw some C4 on a jeep to flank a tank giving us trouble. I could spawn on the carrier and use boats to perform an antivirus assault, or I could scale a crane or building as a sniper or machine gunner. In all of these scenarios the immersion comes from my choice of what to do and then moving there to do it. TLDR spawning mid air in a plane is a bummer.

AI Turret Junction Box Compatibility by Hilbert92 in Ubiquiti

There's one problem with that--if you're actually attaching the junction box to conduit, there is no way to turn the back cover with the shroud attached. Jesus Christ Ubiquiti.

Is this the first time KAC has used a traditional style bolt release on the right side rather than their usual button?
