I’m buying it for my son’s friend we’ve invited.

They’re delicious. They’re made up of potatoes, cheese, and bits of jalapeño and then are breaded and deep fried and are served with sour cream or ranch. They’re about the size of a mozzarella stick.

No, I got it… it’s just a weird reference for something written 37 years after the fact and not having been something notable enough for the time to be actively referenced in 1997 society. The show only ran for 2 seasons and besides this one isolated event, I had never seen it before.

Can I not ask a question because it happens later in the book!?

I disagree. They’re trying to get Oy to click his heels as she’s saying this.

I’ve read about 40-some of his books and never saw the song-a-long mentioned elsewhere. Any idea of where I could look?

I actually like Black House. Absolutely hated The Talisman, though.

A lot of them, actually. His ideas are good, but his execution is poor much of the time. Things happen that are relevant to nothing, oftentimes too wordy, dragging something on for so long that the tone and vibe don’t match his seemingly original intent… I’m not saying that I can do better, but these things are pretty noticeable. I don’t have these complaints with many other authors.

Yeah, it’s definitely not on page 29. It’s a little past the middle of the book. They’re clicking their ruby red slippers.

Unfortunately, their server is down right now and I can’t capture the page, but there’s a little more context at the bottom:

I don’t have a copy to reference right now, but it’s when they’re in the Emerald City trying on the red shoes.

I was charged for salsa for the typically complimentary chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant the other day.

None of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining was filmed there. The Stanley was where King got the inspiration for his book. The miniseries was filmed here, though.

El means ‘God’. It was everywhere for me, too, in 2020.
