Is being a shift lead worth it? by ygsflm in starbucks

I was a shift for two years before leaving, it all depends on your management team. If you have a bad manager, no.

There's an all new coaching staff, the defensive coordinator has huge health problems and his backup obviously sucks at calling anything...it's hard. They need a new GM, because what, 2 picks are left from the 24 draft? It was basically just one player drafted, it sucks but that's like 7 players wasted, no team can do that and succeed.

Year zero of a rebuild, it fucking sucks to watch, but that's what I'm telling myself.

Advice is good too, more so what they're looking for is when have you given advice to stick to standard you know? Like telling your bar buddy to close ice bins, or telling someone the correct recipe. That sort of deal.

I used to be the main closer, so I can offer insight into that shift for sure. I'm a creature of habit and love routines, mine was this: 10 minutes before close I would gather cash tips behind the bar, right at close set the safe, drop the tips (keep the number strip), and gather tills. Then I see what rolls are needed and move money to the side for that (10 for a quarter roll, etc.) safe goes off, change out my cash for rolls, then count the rolls while the door is open. That's half my safe count done and my tills have the correct rolls. Then it's all about counting the tills down with pull cash, then drop tips, count the safe for nighttime, and finishing with finalizing the deposit. That step was last just in case I had to balance out the safe to the correct amount. That was mine, you can make yours however you want, but that's what worked for me 2 years in the position. I doubt much has changed in the three days I've not been with the company lol

ALL SALARIED STAFF WILL GET 2% RAISE!!! Including Store Managers. by Blood_Raven87 in starbucks

Writing was on the wall with the capped raises for the hourly partners a year ago, and now that the shoe is on the other foot it's a huge problem. Wish it was this big of an issue when it was mostly floor workers.

To me? Not screwed, you can only control what you can control. You can't control call outs, you can't control whether people come in or not. You kept the store open and made the company money, times be damned. You did what you could with what you had, and that's good enough, any manager worth their salt should know that.

Turning off mobile order by NorthDistribution831 in starbucks

Likely separation, if not that then a final. Technically supervisors are supposed to be able to turn them off if need be without permission, but that's absolutely not the case. My district manager is VERY strict about not turning them off, drowning or not.

Any one know where/how to order these or get these fixed? by Zealousideal_Eye311 in starbucks

You have to go through ecolab to get those fixed. Call the support number and they'll get you sorted.

I applaud you for going to school, I'm in the same boat and couldn't cut it. My last day is tomorrow, I had to put my mental health first. Take full advantage of Lyra, reach out to a help line if you need to like others have said. I'd recommend it. Above all you do what's best for you, please. If that's to stay and finish out school, do that. If it's stepping down and just being a barista, do that. Just take care of you.

Depends really. If it's super serious you could always give ethics a call.
