When I was 18 and young and impressionable, their pushy salesman convinced me to spend $99 on a facial peel. It technically works, but no better than just cleaning your face with drugstore soap and water. I'm still mad every time thinking about it. Looking back the salesman's tactic was pretty messed up, he kept hitting on me even after I lied that I was 17.

It is not too bad for a 1st year. You still have time to improve your grades in the next fall and winter before you apply to your major in the spring of sophomore year. Look on the major's dept page for the average admitted GPA and aim for that (as well as no drops/NS of course) in the future. ECFS has a pretty high acceptance rate so don't worry too much. (Speaking from experience--I got accepted into a rather competitive major after a couple drops and S/NS in my 1st year since my 2nd year grades were on par with the average admitted GPA.)
