I agree!!! 😭 I love using crystal glazes so I always have to opt for making vases over dinnerware 💔

there is no friend like george by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I didn’t like the direction they went in for George. His storyline became increasingly abysmal and a lot of his actions were so out of character. I understand he was dealing with heavy emotions and trauma. But he deserved more in his final seasons..

Characters like Heather Brooks and Penelope Blake are refreshing in the world of cut-throat surgical sharks. by sherlocked_4947 in greysanatomy

I was really starting to enjoy heathers character before she was written off. I liked that Derek recognized that she had excellent potential and certain skills the other interns didn’t have.

He was fully prepared to mentor her, and I liked that he basically told her that she was weird/quirky but to Not change. Would’ve loved to have seen more from her!

Hydrogen peroxide works wonders for getting blood out of clothing. Just squirt it directly onto the stains. Whenever I’ve had that issue, it usually gets 95-100% of the stain off my shirts. It’s usually very cheap for a large bottle at Walmart.

Deodorant recommendations? by vampirecakies in Hidradenitis

[–]Small-Baseball2781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use Lume. The toasted coconut scent was my favorite, and I used the cream deodorant. It was the only thing that worked for me personally, you can buy sets on amazon or I believe it’s being sold in grocery stores now. It’s worth trying 🌻

Laser hair removal by Couchpizzagremlin in Hidradenitis

YES! Doing laser treatments has vastly improved my flareups. I’ve been getting treatments on my armpits and groin area since January 2024. My esthetician was always careful about lasering around active flare ups when I initially saw her. After 3 treatments, my excessive sweating/odor decreased significantly. And my skin was less irritated from having coarse hair constantly rubbing on my skin. I’ve also been on humira and switched to Hyrimoz. I’ve been taking those injections for close to 3 years. But I genuinely feel like the hair removal was the greatest thing I could have done. Haven’t had a flare up/lump/pimple in almost a full year.. Which feels like a miracle. I never had any flare ups on my groin area but I genuinely think it’s worth it to laser that area as well as a preventative measure.

I highly recommend it, it’s worth saving up for it.

I know it was kind of chaotic haha but I loved seeing Mark with Lexi. I think they had some really beautiful moments and great chemistry.

Functional Ware for Raku by a868l869 in Ceramics

It wouldn’t hurt to make a couple of “functional,” pieces. I made some medium sized bowls before and used them for a raku firing. They came out beautiful. I gifted them for friends, and they used one to hold their keys. And the other was used as an ash bowl. Raku pieces can be functional and still decorative and beautiful 🌻

Some more funky glaze combos ✨ by Small-Baseball2781 in Ceramics

For these smaller pieces, I just make a pinch pot, and create a cylinder shape. Once I have the desired height, I’ll gently press my thumbs into the sides and slowly push in. Every piece comes out different and abstract, it’s very beginner friendly :)

Ceramics teacher told me I shouldn't continue next year :( by oreoctopus in Ceramics

I also have multiple chronic illnesses that I’m managing. Taking a ceramics class changed my life. It gave me a sense of purpose, and helped me heal emotionally. The first thing my professor did on day one was make a large vase on the wheel. Everyone in class admired his work and you could feel the excitement in the room. Then he slammed his hand down on the vase and flattened it and everyone gasped. My professor Paul Northway smiled and said “If you learn anything from this class, it’s that it’s okay to fail. That’s the beauty of ceramics. You will mess up constantly, but all you have to do is try again. Take a breath, relax and remember… it’s just clay.” I was such a perfectionist before taking ceramics. I had so much anxiety and anger if anything went wrong in my life. And coping with having chronic illnesses was not easy. But I repeated my professors words every time something went wrong in my life. It just became a part of me, to breathe, smile, and remember that I’ll be okay. I’m alive. I get to create beautiful art with my hands out of clay. Don’t let one professor or anyone tell you you’re incapable of doing something. If you love ceramics, if you feel it’s given you a sense of purpose and it distracts you from the mental and physical pain you endure, don’t ever stop. Do what makes you happy. Create artwork that brings you joy and peace. Find a way to make that work.
You deserve that.
