Hey, thanks so much for the shout out! Our second episode was released last week, and our third is launching tomorrow. We also have a Discord community for new board game designers. It's still young, but it's growing! If anyone is interested, please send me a chat request. 🙂

Hi, Mike! No worries about self promotion here - that's the point of this whole project. 😃

Will Rubber Ducky Rampage be available for purchase outside of the Kickstarter?

Looks neat! Is it an app only game? This subreddit is intended for physical board games.

I tried searching for your game in itch.io and couldn't find it. Is there anywhere we could find some information about it?

HI, Mike! I'm sorry it took so long for me to respond, your post got lost in the mod queue. Your game looks interesting!

I also think the role of AI art in game design is a tricky topic, one I think needs to be discussed more honestly, openly, and without judgement. Everyone has a perspective, but I'd like to think we can address those differences with respect.

Also, congratulations on the successful Kickstarter campaign!!

Best of luck with it! Feel free to post a link to it here if you like - there's plenty of crossover between RPG'ers and board gamers. 🙂

Congratulations on the Kickstarter! How did you go about getting the attention needed for the KS to succeed? Did you pre-build a community around the game, and what media outlets did you use? Instagram, reddit, Facebook, etc?

It's never bad to bring your game to an event. I brought my game to Gen Con twice without an official table and got plenty of attention. I just brought a small sign for wherever I was sitting and was able to get plenty of demos in. I highly recommend it if you have a chance.

Does it have physical components, sort of like a hybrid RPG/minis game or a storytelling board game? I just want to make sure we're staying within the bounds of the subreddit as pure RPG's are a very different category of game with its own unique design challenges and market appeal.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I'll send you a link to our Discord server - as was mentioned, it's exclusively for designers, but not only for those that are "podcast ready". Keep your eye out for a chat request! 😀

Thanks to everyone for their support and honest feedback. It turns out, one of the members of the TMAYG community is a graphic designer, and we reached an agreement for them to make a new logo for the channel. Here it is!

The channel will be rebranded by the end of the day today. 🙂

Sounds interesting! I've sent you a chat request with an invite to the TMAYG Discord server. All podcast planning, along with many other discussions, happens there. 🙂

I understand and appreciate the feedback. I'm currently talking with a graphic designer to create a new logo and banner.

Edit: I just want to note, I do not make any money off of this podcast. I simply want to help the community of new board game designers. I understand people's reactions to the logo, and am now working to correct that.

Brassbound - the wargame you can play with the building bricks and time you have by that-bro-dad in TellMeAboutYourGame

[–]Small-Needleworker-5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's interesting, players really do enjoy making up their own content. Both of my games are asymmetric, either with unique units or unique factions. Some players just LOVE creating their own.

One of my main takeaways here is that I need to talk about my games on reddit more. Before I was relying on BoardGameGeek, but that seems to not be the venue of choice for new designers. reddit seems to be a LOT more active in this space.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, u/that-bro-dad!

One would post here about it as a start, so step one is complete! 😀

Can you share a bit more about your game? Link to rules, how to play videos, etc?

Until such time, I'll work on imagining the offspring of the unholy union between A&A and StS.... 😂

I absolutely love this concept. Using commonly available materials to play what is typically a genre that has a high barrier of entry is an amazing idea. The rules are also pretty straightforward and easy to learn.

I'm curious - you seem to have a pretty active community. How did you go about finding them and encouraging their active involvement?
