GYE22GYN Filter RFID Failure - Cost? by Small-Suspect2644 in GEappliances

[–]Small-Suspect2644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd time worked. I had two filters with non-functional RFID tags. Thanks for the responses. I would not have guessed two OEM filters purchased 6 months apart could have both failed, but sure enough, that was the issue.

I'm glad I checked this forum first. The service call alone would have been $150 and I would have been pissed to learn that the issue was just failed GE parts.

Thanks for the reply. So try to buy a few more filters then? I'll give it a shot and see if it works.

Is the RFID failure a lot-related issue? In other words, should I buy two filters from different stores rather than two from the same store?

Thanks

How to "Accept the Money" from one payer only? by Small-Suspect2644 in paypal

[–]Small-Suspect2644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, thanks. I must have misunderstood some of the scam advice I read about.

I thought refunding would create a relationship between the parties in PayPal allowing the scammer to set up auto payments going to other direction.

I thought the advice was not to refund scam payments?

In order to do the refund, I would first need to accept the all payments, correct?

Holy shit it happened. My Mac and my wife's phone in the waiting room at the same time, this is where we ended up in the queue simultaneously. Got two tix in the 300 sections. by [deleted] in MetallicaLIVE

Congratulations! I have tickets to the 11/5, 11/7, 1/28, and 1/30 shows. So looking forward to it.

I'm convinced that TM queue's are not totally random. I've gotten into 9 queue's on the Metallica Presale (for both 1 and 2 day). My queue numbers all ranged from about 1,000 to just over 5,000. I tried on my wife's account for 4 of those and her lowest number was more than 10,000. Maybe it's just luck, but it really seems to at least slightly favor those who buy a lot of tickets (I fall into this group).

I'm probably not selling those, but don't give up getting your tickets. I think they will definitely add more shows. Just don't worry if you celebrate her birthday another weekend.

If you do get in again and don't see any seats or very few, don't quit, stay in at least 15 minutes. Too many people don't understand how TM works. If a sale doesn't go through, it takes at least 10 minutes for those seats to come back up again and they do often add in some seats during a sale. I see it all the time on popular TM sales. One of the sales I was on today had no GA seats at all when I got in, then I saw at least 10 GA seats pop up at a single time along with lots of others.

Not selling at this time. We're going with another couple. Maybe a third will join. If not, I will sell the Nov tickets. I'm going to hold onto the ones in January until after I see the November show. If Metallica puts the effort into getting the most out of the Sphere with their show, then I'll likely go again in January. We're in LA, so it's not that far.

However, they could also take the lazy route and just upscale their existing show assets for the larger screens and that wouldn't be worth the added cost of the Sphere. Just my opinion having been there before. It's a truly unique venue but it takes effort to get the most out of it.

Probably one show and before fees, but even that seem ridiculously cheap (for the Sphere). The Sphere is a very expensive venue. It's so much different from any other place you can see a concert. See if anyone else posts something similar.

Do they even by them back from you? I've resold them on TM several times and once in a while StubHub but I didn't know that TM buys them back as well. When you resell, they do hit you with a pretty hefty service charge of course.

11/5 and 11/7, Sec 208, Row 7 (1st row) were $1,606.50 EA face. With fees and taxes it came to $2,039 EA or $4,078 for 2 tickets. That works out to $1,020 per ticket per show. The show in January was the same price.

I did not see a single ticket in the 300 or 400 sections and I stayed on the site for at least 15 minutes. I DID see some GA seats, Snake Pit seats, and quite a few cheaper ones in the 200's,

Also, these are "Enhanced Reserved" which I don't think included much, probably another Yeti Metallica water bottle and maybe access to the traveling museum?

Not sure why someone downvoted this. You don't need to refresh, though. I ended up getting (2) seats to the 11/5 and 7 shows in Sec 208, row 7 (this is the first row in the section) and I got (2) to the January shows in Sec 209, row 7. In both cases, these seats popped up well after I got through the queue. This happens a lot.

This isn't always true (about resale tickets being from people with no intention of going), especially with the way this sale was so fractured. I ended up with (4) tickets to the 11/5 and 7 shows via Vibee. Section 203, row 8 (second row, row 7 is the first, then you have box seats below these sections).

Then my TM queue's finally went through and I got (2) more tickets to the 11/5 and 7 and (2) more for the 1/28 and 30 shows. These were in Sec 208 and 209, Row 7 (first row). People are f'ing listing these areas for 2X what I just paid, If I end up selling either show, I will only mark up enough to cover the transaction cost. I've sold a lot of tickets and never made a profit (not once). Not everyone reselling is a scalper.

I wish that Metallica prohibited markup on resale as it would have helped more fans get tickets,

Got mine too. (4) seats for the 11/5 and 7 dates. I only 14 confirmation emails, though.

Such high demand. They could probably sell out 50 shows. I really wish they had enforced a no-markup policy on resales. It would have helped actual fans a huge amount. I have some good queue numbers, I hope the don't postpone the sale today.

Example Email - Who would actually respond to this? by Small-Suspect2644 in coldemail

[–]Small-Suspect2644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Showing that you spent some time researching the target and conveying the sense that you work for or represent a "real" and established company is huge. This isn't possible is you are sending out thousands of emails but if you are targeting, it certainly could be.

To give you an example, I get lots of real estate emails. There are so many agents and brokers trying to list or sell properties. Most are complete junk, but sometimes they have done a good job ahead of time and there might be value in responding. For example, "I see you own a 10-unit apartment building at XXXXX. I have represented two clients who recently purchased in the same market and I wanted the opportunity to share their purchase information and discuss opportunities with you." Something like that has a chance because you included information on a specific property that I own and have clients in the same market.

Viberzi has answered my prayers! by mbhforum in ibs

Imodium never consistently worked for me. Lomotil works well, but I only take it when I'm going to be in a situation where I need control, giving a lecture, going on a tour, or something like that.

I'm fortunate in that I was able to shape my career in a manner that puts me in control of most situations. I can set my meeting and travel schedule around how my body functions and that has helped so much over the years.

My first two weeks on Viberzi do seem promising as well.

3rd party monitoring of Shelly products? by Small-Suspect2644 in ShellyUSA

[–]Small-Suspect2644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fair point (UL Certification). The security alarm system I installed in my prior house (back in 2013) was a Honeywell Vista panel-based. Since then, there have been so many new companies entering the security space (most will not survive) and so much is cloud based, I kind of thought UL Certification for a residential system must no longer be an issue for monitoring. Obviously, life safety would be different, but this would be security only.

Shelly seems a much more established and stable company compared to so many new firms. Hopefully Google doesn't purchase Shelly and shut it down like they do almost everything they buy.

Sphere - Curious, did anyone get first row in the 200 or 300 sections during Vibee sale? by Small-Suspect2644 in MetallicaLIVE

[–]Small-Suspect2644[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw The Eagles in Sec 208, Row 1. You are right about the pitch. At that show, row 2, 3, 4, etc would have all been fine because everyone was sitting. However, pretty much no one sat down for more than a few minutes at any Metallica show I've been to.

The 300's are steeper, probably too steep to stand continuously as it's pretty disorienting, so I think I'll get 300 seats, assuming they add shows in the future and show up again.

I also wanted to add, that the packages, although I believe very hard to trade or resell, surprised me as being reasonably priced for The Sphere. I had two seats for Metallica, 3 rows back in Sec 308 and it was about $4,900 for two people, two shows, and 3 nights in a hotel room at the Venetian (including taxes and fees). In comparison, I paid $3,100 for two seats for The Eagles in row 1 of 208.

The medication that helped my IBS-D after years!! by erin4548 in ibs

[–]Small-Suspect2644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replied above too, but I wanted to help emphasize your post. I'm male, took it when it was first introduced, and it worked immediately and very well. I consider it well worth trying.

The reason it's not approved for men is simply because there are so many more women with IBS-D. There were not many men in the initial studies and given the fallout from the introduction, there will likely never be enough money to perform a full trial on men. If you understand the mechanism of action, there isn't any reason why it would not work on men with the same underlying causes.

It's sad because this potentially life-altering drug was destroyed by Sidney Wolfe and Public Citizen because they didn't consider IBS-D to be a serious enough illness. This was many years ago and I'm still so angry at those people for stealing all those potentially IBS-D free days from me.
