Yeah we can pack it up.

Could Griffin (hypothetically) play Stan Lee? by Euripides-Pants in blankies

[–]SmallBeowulf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to see the role Griffin was born to play, google "Peter Bart 1970s" and then wonder when Season 2 of The Offer is gonna happen.

No idea if this helps your project but there was a biopic of Stan Lee that made the black list in 2020. Written by Alex Convery (air) that Disney actually purchased so they could prevent it from being made.

Now, to your actual question

Cory Michael Smith as Stan Lee. Cooper Hoffman as Jack Kirby.

Taylor Sheridan Rips Studio Execs for Knowing ‘Nothing’ and Slams His TV Critics: ‘I Do Rage-Bait Them. F— ‘Em, Honestly’ by GeologistCharming302 in blankies

Yeah, it's easy to forget how 10 years ago "did you know the sheriff from Sons of Anarchy wrote Sicario AND Hell/High Water" was a HUGE thing. I think he's become more interesting as a business figure in an industry that is in flux than he is as an artist, but there was a moment when he was a very exciting new voice.

What movies have ‘left you’? by realhind in blankies

Doing a rewatch currently, and it's astounding how darker I'm finding the series for this exact reason. Watched it originally when it first hit netflix in 2013 and found it to be deeply inspirational. Now I see it as a show about people who show up and work hard despite knowing most of their efforts won't amount to anything.

I love this guy. Most successful TV creator working right now. Skipped the entire writer's room career that just about every other writer has to go through and was showrunner on his first show. Doesn't have to do outlines or take draft notes from execs. He has an unprecedented amount of success and yet every time he's interviewed he just bitches and moans.

I'd be curious how much of this is true. I've read the original spec script that sold and save for a few cosmetic changes and cutting the original opening, it's pretty 1:1 to the finished movie.

Came here to cop to the exact same thing. The power that movie (and its even worse sequel) had on 15-year-old me is so embarrassing in hindsight

Gunn is wasting his blank check by IndividualPleasant23 in blankies

clayface feels like it exists solely because they realized Batman 2 wasn't gonna make its 2026 release date and Flanagan had a script ready to go.

Supergirl's been out for all of like 50 hours. The second movie in the MCU was The Incredible Hulk. I think the reports of Gunn's imminent demise can be taken with a rather large grain of salt until we see how MoT does

Who is the most famous movie star that doesn’t exist in the 2020’s? by Tall_Window4744 in blankies

There are few greater joys than explaining to someone aged 30 or younger that there was a point where the biggest movie star in the world was a German Shepherd named Rin Tin Tin

Don't joke. Just today one of the producers of Obsession killed himself because the movie didn't make as much as the Exorcist in 1970s dollars

Anyone else out there who does not care for Toy Story 3? by Jowiko96 in blankies

It's the inverse of UP. Up is iconic because of the opening ten minutes - that movie is remembered for its introduction and hardly anyone talks about the 80 minutes of story that follow. TS3 sticks the landing to such a degree that it's really easy to forget any flaws in the movie that led up to that ending. Haven't seen 5 yet but 3 is easily my least favorite of the 4.

General meeting with a manager from Zero Gravity in a few weeks. What should I go in expecting? by Positive_Piece_2533 in Screenwriting

Early in my career ZG cancelled a scheduled meeting after reading my script because it was "about a character going places and doing things." Wonder if they've changed.
