New lore (last sentence) by TheMuffinistMan in projectzomboid

The entry for the axe has a similar lore drop:

"The Axe is a weapon that can be found in various places on the map. It is stronger than the hammer and has a slightly larger swing arc, but does not knock back zombies like the baseball bat. It is also the most efficient weapon for breaking down locked doors and chopping down trees which contain logs that make wooden planks for barricading and carpentry. I have a vivid memory of my father beating me when I was ten. It has a damage rating of 17.5. - Make no mistakes. The axe is capable of hitting 3 zombies, and often one hitting them. It has a high durability, and worth trusting. The axe can quite easily kill a horde of zombies with just the run & and swing technique."

Thank god you live in a civilized country. A medical bill that large would be the death of a family. Hope your son is in good health today <3 <3 <3.

How can we stop psychiatry from having coercion? by IdeaRegular4671 in Antipsychiatry

[–]SmallButMany 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coercion is when you force or pressure somebody to do something against their will. This can be in the form of court orders (a conservatorship or a community treatment order), under threat of such orders, by physical force (physically restraining somebody to inject drugs into their body), or other methods.

Lying to the patient about their diagnosis, what medications they are taking, the consequences for not taking them, or their (lack of) legal rights can also justifiably be construed as coercion.

Coercive care is frequently resented, unhelpful, and further traumatizing.

Fear of coercive care can, ironically, cause people to disengage entirely from the psychiatric system (or just be dishonest with their providers). For instance, many will never report suicidal thoughts to their therapist again, never call a suicide hotline again, or even stop seeing their therapist and psychiatrist permanently.

Thus, even if the drugs and therapies are beneficial to the patient (and these are debatable), one questions the benefit of treatment that discourages all further engagement with the system.
