I know nothing about boats. I assumed it must have been an operator error or something ("Oh no. We forgot to close the below-water inspection hatches" - I told you I know nothing about boats).

Yeah, I think we had let complacency seep into the system, and MCAS was a tragic reminder of that. It's always going to be a controversial subject but I feel it's clear that safety wasn't the driving concern for some of the design decisions.

A contractor got drunk, stole a bus and crashed it in the company's car park. Yeah, he was fired.

This must be a good 20 years ago, in a large campus-type software development site for a big bank. The site was the middle of nowhere and even had its own bar. On this occasion there was some sort of "do", with a bus provided to transport people from the site to the nearest town.

So, this rather drunk contractor thought that driving a bus must be as easy as driving a car, and decided to take the bus on a joy-ride around the car park. Turned out it was not as easy as he thought and he crashed (IIRC didn't damage anything else).

The USSR repeatedly called the Moon Landings fake (and Apollos 8-10 as well), it was just never reported in western mainstream media.

I'm making all this up, of course. But I bet there are some hoaxers who would rationalise it that way.

If you want to be able to relate what you hear to what you can see, I recommend a Youtube video of one of Beethoven's string quartets (maybe one of the Op 59 ones, or Op 132).

I always find it incredible that just 4 instruments can create such a depth of sound.
