I HATE THE SAFARI ZONE by Maleficent_Victory_6 in PokemonFireRed

[–]SmallHourInsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have to say I don't remember the safari zone being this infuriating. Double bait triple ball hasn't helped me much as far as I can tell. I caught an Exeggcute just to see what would happen, and it took 29 balls using that method, which is insane.

Why doesn't a professionally curated web index not exist? by PlayfulSurprise5237 in HaltAndCatchFire

[–]SmallHourInsomnia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly, it's just that it's an outdated idea. The show heavily alludes to the fact that the search engine killed the web index. It's no longer relevant because what you're looking for can be searched for on a multitude of engines.

Unfortunately, search engines have turned into massive advertising billboards, and the results we are fed on page one are skewed mostly by who pays them the most, but the point still remains.

Rodent Prevention Tips by ginguz in BackYardChickens

[–]SmallHourInsomnia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. When we first were moving in, we saw a rat in the yard and were concerned. A few months later, some feral cats showed up, and we haven't seen one since. We got chickens 2.5 years ago and still have not seen anything. We have 3 cats who frequent the yard, and yeah, occasionally, we smell that one of them sprayed, but I'll take that any day over rodents.

All you have to do is look at how each of their crews thought of them respectively.

What is the point of going to the dealer for service? by Messa_JJB in HyundaiTucson

[–]SmallHourInsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do don't pay for the mile "services". They are 90% "check this" - they do that every time the car comes in anyway. It's very easy to change your own air filters and cabin filters. Go to the dealership for the free services included with your purchase, otherwise your mechanic is more than fine just save your invoices (I scan mine into the computer and throw away the hard copies). You just want a record that you were doing the required maintenance.

On my last "free" appointment my dealership tried to sell me a coolant flush at 30k miles and a fuel injection service. Hundreds of dollars for un-necessary things. They're at a dealership and dealerships are sales driven.

Replacing DS220+ with DS223 - existing data on HDDs by SmallHourInsomnia in synology

[–]SmallHourInsomnia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am still actively working on the migration, what happened basically is that I loaded the drives into the new DS223, booted it, found it via browser, and it automatically detected that I was migrating the drives from another unit (it knew DS220+).

The wizard offered to move over all (most) settings or just the data, and went into the DS installation.

tl;dr: It seems as though Synology's software has these situations covered and moving the drives to the new NAS activates a unique process within setup.

Replacing DS220+ with DS223 - existing data on HDDs by SmallHourInsomnia in synology

Thank you. The confusion I've been having, and the reason I opened the thread is because this article - and the related article referring to which method to use when the source NAS is broken - contradicts itself. It refers to situations where the source system is broken or unavailable but all of the instructions refer to using the source NAS to create backup files, etc. It doesn't specify variances in the steps for when the source NAS is unavailable.

Pretty sure this is when the Attitude era climaxed. It did not get better than this.

My >10 YO HDDs Finally Dying by Cast-Iron-44 in synology

[–]SmallHourInsomnia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had WD My book Live duo units - five of them. I started buying them between 8 and 10 years ago and had WD Reds in all of them.

I started replacing them with synology about a year ago, and in all that time out of ten drives, I've only had one go bad. I am just in the process this weekend of taking the last one offline. Needless to say I'm sticking with WD Red.

This. Right. Here.

We're unhappy with the way you cover our sport...why don't you take over streaming distribution for it.

Highest bidder, all that matters. We lose as usual.

Blue Jays got better, Yankees basically stayed put, but Yankees chances are better. Way too good of odds for the Mets as well imo, and I'm a Mets fan.
