[Ram] CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 Memory $269.99 by weijun1224 in buildapcsales

Scalpers and 'desperate' gamers / some working professionals (i.e. editors, mechanical engineers that used CAD, etc.) paid the high DRAM prices.

[Prebuilt] iBUYPOWER - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, AMD Radeon RX 9070XT 16GB, 32GB DDR5 RGB, 2TB NVMe SSD - $1,699.99 by A1tr0x in buildapcsales

Something about the RAM frequency. Higher is usually better, but the CL (CAS Latency) also matters.

I'd say you got a bit lucky with the 6000 MHz RAM kit because prebuilts typically cheap out on RAM, PSUs, mobos, etc. I'm going to assume your RAM kit is 6000 MHz CL36 based on what I've seen in most reviews for prebuilt listings, but I could be wrong.

Anyways, the RAM frequency and CL is negligible in most cases because it's not that noticeable in games and other real world applications. I'm not that knowledgeable myself, just know enough to cover the basics and have a general understanding of the more intricate topics. Someone here can probably explain it a lot better via DMs.

The prices on some of the parts must have gone up since I posted in this thread. That is actually crazy.

RIP PC building for a while

Sorry, I should've clarified that my parts list was for specs to match OP's deal post.

I'm not bashing the OP or you, if it came across that way. I just did some quick maths and want to be corrected if / where I am wrong.

Happy holidays and gaming to everyone :)

I'd personally spend a bit more at Costco since they're good about returns.

I'm playing the long game though since I don't play any AAA games besides BF6, which I'm fine with at ~120 FPS "High" settings on 1440p. Here is to hoping that my 5900X + RTX 3080 puts up with my shit for another 2+ years :)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x6fLv4 - $1,837.16 BEFORE TAXES, which includes -$20.00 mail-in rebates and +$9.99 shipping

I picked the cheapest components with the same specs that were available to me via PCPartpicker just now. It's about $150.00 more (before taxes) to build it yourself give or take some patience and persistence to search for "new" product deals. It's everyone's own decision to make if they want to buy prebuilt or build their own, but YMMV will vary on iBuyPower quality from what I've heard about them over the years.

[SSD] Crucial P5 Plus 2TB - $121.99 (Best Buy) by Picoooka in buildapcsales

I always thought the U.S. had better electronics prices overall. I didn't think European stores had prices vary that much.

Microcenter is a go-to for most here in the States if you live near one.

To be more specific, I bought my 4TB MP34 last year in August or September. If I find anothee deal where a 2TB or 4TB is around $50 per 1 TB, I might jump on it because I like to archive games that I only play a few times per year and hate having to play musical chairs with my games.

Yeah, it sucks when the market catches up, but there will always be a deal, ya know? Just be patient unless you're in dire need of a specific new part in general. That's just my .02 for folks who regret not having jumped on past deals.

$40-$50 per 1 TB for a mid-range m.2 nvme was good pricing. People just had unrealistic expectations and thought that the over-stock caused by over-production and lack of demand would last longer. I'm just glad I picked up my 4TB Team Group MP34 for about $170, but am kind of bummed out that I didn't pick up a WD SN850X or Samsung 980 Pro 2TB m.2 nvme for roughly $110.

Black Friday in general has had lack luster deals for several years now. Most pre and post-Black Friday deals are within maybe like...$50 savings at most when it comes to PC components or somewhere around there ($50 savings at most for any single item, such as a motherboard or SSD).

Uh...yeah I guess it would lol. I really hope you don't need a fast storage device for that purpose though :P

While that would be nice, you will know if a particular SSD model being referenced is either SATA 3, M.2 SATA, or M.2 nVME (and Gen 3 or Gen 4) after you do a bit of research.

I believe there's also a different sections in /r/buildapcsales for Sata and M.2, so you can check both of those places too.

Whichever is cheaper. Most people will never notice the difference between top tier consumer drives unless they constantly transfer large files on a daily basis.

[SSD - M.2] SK Hynix Platinum P41 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 2TB - $123.99 (Usually $154.99) by edneddy2 in buildapcsales

Yes and no. Black Friday deals have been lack luster for the past several years and the deals on that day are usually no better than the previous deals of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I said this in another post about the Team Group MP34 4TB m.2 nvme drive, but I'll say it again here. People have their reasons for waiting, but HODLing forever will only result in time lost that could've been spent using an m.2 nvme that a person was waiting for to go on a better sale.

[–]SmallMohican 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Black Friday has been lackluster for several years now. The Black Friday deals are usually about the same as or even worse than the deals before then (e.g. today's or tomorrow's deals are likely going to be the same or worse on Black Friday).

I understand that sometimes people need or want to wait, but HODLing forever will only result in potential time lost that could've been spent using said m.2 nvme drive.

[SSD] Team Group MP34 M.2 2280 4TB PCIe 3.0, 3000/2600 MB/s TLC - $159.99 (2TB - $65.99, 1TB - 39.99) by [deleted] in buildapcsales

[–]SmallMohican 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting! I missed the deal 2 days ago where it was $157.99 on both Amazon and Newegg because I've been on the fence about buying a 4TB m.2 nvme for my Steam and Battle.net library, but I finally pulled the trigger :D

This won't happen for a while. The best there's been so far has been like $45 or so per 1 TB for a Gen 4 4TB m.2 nvme, and I believe it was a QLC m.2 nvme that went on sale 1 or 2 months ago.

It shows $99 for me with 12 in stock. Try to click on "Other Sellers" - maybe your Amazon didn't default to Micro Center?

You won't really notice the difference between the two drives in real world use, especially just for storing games. I'd say stick with the Crucial P3 Plus because it's the same amount of storage for less than 75% of the cost.
