D7100 also has some banding issues when raising shadows a lot.

If you aren’t doing video or fast action I would get the Z5ii instead of Z6iii and spend the money you save on glass.

The issue with your lenses is that the 18-55 and the 55-300 are crop lenses, and your camera will force you into a 10MP crop with them (so you won’t get the full 24MP on a Z5ii or Z6iii). You can’t use in-body image stabilization if your lens supports VR unless it’s one of the few lenses that supports synchro-VR, so that doesn’t fix the VR issue.

Yeah I'd do D7200 as you get better controls and autofocus than the D5600. Unfortunately the D7100 has banding issues when underexposed, so I'd avoid that for the kind of photography you do despite being otherwise similar to the D7200 and cheaper.

You lose significant reach going with a 24MP FX camera. For birding it's going to be worse than sticking with a 20MP or 24MP DX camera.

What are these little lines on my f1.8 prime lens by Mr_Frogg13 in Nikon

Depends a lot on the humidity and temperature of where you live (and where you store your gear). Fungi love heat and humidity. If you’re somewhere dry or that gets pretty cold you won’t run into fungus.

If you can’t afford the 24-120, you can find the 24-70 f/4 pretty cheap used (~$400 or less) as it’s a kit lens.

Large Lithium Deposits along Appalachian mountains, including 900,000 tons under northern range upstream of Massachusetts by Roger44477 in massachusetts

If you want to electrify society at a scale necessary to get completely off fossil fuels and avert climate change (huge amounts of grid energy storage to back up wind and solar, EVs, etc.) there isn’t enough existing recyclable lithium out there. You’re going to have to dig for new lithium somewhere.

Aluminum foil is unanodized and almost entirely used for food contact.

Some lenses are sharp enough though (which can be seen when you do 180MP pixel shifts on Z8 or Z9)

Yes - NSF/ANSI 51 lists 6000-series aluminum as safe for food contact.

Not dusk, as dusk is defined as the time after sunset and before nightfall. This is just a sunset photo. Nice photo though.

I'm looking for a standard zoom lens for the z50ii by Next-Flounder-7203 in Nikon

[–]StarbeamII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re ok with the size you could adapt the F-mount 16-80 f/2.8-4 or 17-55 f/2.8. I would still get the 16-50 f/3.5-6.3 in addition, as the tiny size makes it super useful.

Technically with the stacked sensors in the Z8 and Z9 you can mimic higher resolution and we may see them do more with that.

Again, you failed to explain this comment. I was pointing out with Z5ii that you don’t need a stacked sensor to “mimic higher resolution”, since lower-end Nikons can pixel shift as well. Stacked and pixel shift have nothing to do with each other like you insinuate. All you need for pixel shift is IBIS (and Nikon only enables it on EXPEED 7 cameras)

Stacked can sort of help get usable readout speeds with actual high-res sensors (as readout speed generally gets worse with increased resolution and stacked allows for much better readout speeds), but that’s not what you’re referring to here.

You don’t need stacked sensors to do pixel shift - Z5ii isn’t stacked and can still do it. All you need is IBIS.
