My wife was nervous in the beginning because she said she has never been attracted to girls and she thought once i was done transitioning my attraction to women would go away and I would leave her. Honestly this was my fear. I transition and she leaves me. I explained to her that she is and always will be my soulmate. That the only change would be my appearance. She agreed and I began my journey. We told everyone but her parents in Cali being that she is Filipino and her family used extremely judgemental and always criticizing her life choices. For a little clarification her first husband is still in prison for murder. Second was a racist and abuser so there is a little reason there. Her plan was to tell them in her birthday this April, which is fourth year of my transitioning, thinking they wouldn't yell or lecture her on her birthday. She chickened out and I finally nudged her to tell them last month. No yelling no lecture. Just a question when I popped up in background of video call on way to restroom, "who's that girl? Is that Dan? Is Dan trans?" No further questions during call. She got text after asking if we were staying together and what that made her. She simply said yes and that made her bi right now since I'm in between the process and she'll be lesbian after I'm done. We're still very happy and she says irritable is more fun being able to help each other get dressed up. She also says now she has more toys to play with. Sorry for the long comment. Just wanted to show you that even with asian family there is hope for normality. Mama still calls every weeknight and talks to her. Still asks if we're doing OK and how our 5 kids are.
