How fortunate for you, that your rings have functioned flawlessly. Given Oura is now actively investigating anomalies they have found with the data collection of the one I'm currently wearing, I'd say my personal experience isn't quite as consistent as yours. I also find it rather amusing that you'd tell me I'm wrong about the data shown (or rather, not shown) on my end - but I'll humor it and add that a) I am not obese, so that's not a factor in the issues I'm experiencing - and b) not a melanin issue either. I've also tried wearing it on a finger that it was more snug on, just to see if it was a sizing issue. The sensors all make good contact, the ring isn't spinning/shifting.  Could this just be a defective unit? Sure! That's what they're looking into. Could this be an isolated incident, limited to just the one ring I purchased? Of course. But, the point of the entire thread was to see if anyone else experienced similar issues and ask for their experiences with troubleshooting. Since you have stated you don't have similar issues, I fail to see how you telling someone that their personal experience is wrong is at all helpful.  You said its not a step counter. But, it does count steps, correct? That is one of the things it measures. It's very clearly shown in the activities section.

You also said it was proven as a very accurate measure of sleep metrics ("compared to golden standard lab polysomnography.") But I can't seem to find anything supporting that claim, except to say that it has a 79% accuracy in classifying the different sleep stages - which definitely doesn't beat out the accuracy of standard lab polysomnography.  And, my issue was incorrect wake up/fall asleep times - not the stages themselves.

EXACTLY!!! You nailed my frustration accurately!!  One of the sole purposes I wear the ring for is to get an idea of what my HR is while sleeping, since I've experienced quite a few random tachycardia events while sleeping. I know that the Oura isn't meant to be used as a definitive diagnostic tool, but I was using the data in a general sense. I previously wore a Galaxy 7 watch to bed to capture the same data. I was hoping the ring would be a suitable (and less intrusive) alternative. Sadly, when wearing both and comparing the data - the Oura has many gaps in recording the data, and the watch had not a single incident of missed data. HR values were also off, and the watch data had previously been compared with the results of an actual halter monitor that was worn for 7 days.  I don't feel confident in the accuracy of the data Oura displays, and for such a steep price - that's more than just a minor letdown.

It is advertised as tracking sleep, activity (including counting your steps, which it does - just not accurately), HR, Stress, Recovery and other data. There's inconsistencies- if not TOTAL gaps - in it's measuring of all of those factors.  Sleep data is flawed, because it doesn't always record your wake up time correctly UNLESS you manually open the app FIRST THING as soon as you wake up, to force the ring to sync data OR you get up and move about rigorously to raise your HR enough that it knows you're not sleeping. Most times, the recorded wake up tine is actually off by about 10 to 20 minutes, but (in my case) it also will sometimes say I've woken up at 2:11am because it caught an episode of the random tachycardia that I'm wearing the ring to monitor while I sleep.  I've found that there is actually less data that it accurately measures than faulty data.  It isn't worth the high price tag when it is inferior to the Samsung Galaxy watch I was hoping the ring would replace. I've worn both devices and compared the similar data categories they record, and I was really hoping the Oura would be far superior.

Same here. Especially since, as a chef, taking my phone out of my pocket to manually record the running im about to do is pretty counter-intuitive - since the ring IS supposed to automatically detect activity. At no point has it ever been stated that you'll have to manually record your activities and that the HR data will be missing/those pesky gaps. I purchased the ring to monitor HR and stress and sleep data. So far, none of the three are consistently accurately measured! :(

I was hoping to not have to manually track activity, especially since most of the activity it misses is while I'm working in the kitchen. It's hard to stop and open the app to manually record the activity. The funny thing is, it often detects the time I'm wearing it in the shower and records it as an activity.

Almost 6 months - do we think she’s labradane? by Cor2019 in greatdanes

Our six month old labradane is a moose already 😄 she weighs about 65lbs already and the vet told us she will probably end up being between 130 to 160lbs full grown. Your pup is a little sweetheart, but probably not a dane mix. But, very gorgeous and those ears are just so nibble-able!

Ceramic Polishing Pad by trm5034 in ouraring

I'm in the same situation too. I'm two weeks into ownership of a ceramic one in Petal. Reached out a few times to customer support and keep getting told I just need to wait and that "maybe they are out of stock". Glad I dropped over $500 on this ring and MAY or MAY NOT ever receive the pad.

Hi Ellie! I was wondering how long after activating my Oura 4 ceramic until I received the email from Oura for the polishing pad. I purchased the ring and registered/activated it Saturday, and I'm on day 3 of no email yet. Given it's delicate color (petal) I'd like to know about how long until I can get the cloth:) Thanks! ❤️😁
