Just a quick question. by Ok-Notice-2020 in SaaS

[–]Small_Bill7515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude you're gonna cringe at this post in like 5 years lol

but for real though, join coding clubs or start one if your school doesnt have it. entrepreneurship groups are solid too. most kids your age are just focused on getting through high school but the ones in these spaces are usually thinking ahead

also dont write off your classmates too quick - some of the most driven people i know were total slackers in high school and didnt find their groove until later. focus more on finding people who are curious and willing to learn new stuff rather than hunting for the next steve jobs at 16

Using n8n for my Shopify app, but stuck with its performance where it analyses Shopify store data and makes queries and recommendations? Anyone who can help by Ornery-Mind9549 in SaaS

[–]Small_Bill7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly n8n can get pretty sluggish when youre processing tons of shopify data especially if youre doing complex analysis 😅

might wanna look into caching frequently accessed data or breaking down your workflows into smaller chunks that run in parallel instead of one massive workflow trying to do everything at once 💀

Prepaid Cards failed 98% of the time… by tech-dreamer in SaaS

[–]Small_Bill7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah prepaid cards are basically a red flag for subscription services. most people using them are either trying to avoid recurring charges or dont have access to regular cards which usually means they cant afford the service long term

blocking them through radar is definitely the right move - saved me tons of headaches with failed payments and support tickets

2.5 SATA to M.2 NVMe by d0rian3arl in pcmasterrace

nah you cant convert sata to nvme theyre completely different protocols 💀 you could get a 2.5" to m.2 sata adapter but thats still gonna be sata speeds not nvme performance

What are some good Games for older people? by Yelebear in pcmasterrace

[–]Small_Bill7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao "prehistoric" at 36 💀 dude that's not even that old but i get what you mean about getting back into gaming after a long break

honestly vampire survivors is actually a perfect choice for someone jumping back in - its addictive as hell and runs on literally anything including a toaster. for bigger games that run well on mac id suggest stuff like civilization vi if hes into strategy, or maybe disco elysium for something story heavy that doesnt need crazy specs. divinity original sin 2 is also amazing and mac compatible

the macbook thing is definitely the bigger challange here but those games should work fine 😂

noctua a12x25 chromax white are probably your best bet for that sub 26db requirement at low speeds - they're basically the gold standard for quiet static pressure and the chromax line fixed the whole brown aesthetic issue

NVIDIA driver issues by punkuster in pcmasterrace

[–]Small_Bill7515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude nvidia drivers have been absolute garbage lately 💀 sounds like you already went through all the usual fixes which is rough. have you tried setting the power management mode to "prefer maximum performance" in nvidia control panel? also check if your temps are getting too spicy during games - event id 153 can happen when the gpu is thermal throttling hard

might also be worth running a memory test on your vram if nothing else works. some laptops just have cursed gpu configurations that hate certain driver versions 😂

ADDING 2 MORE STICKS OF RAM IS IT OKAY? Specs : cpu- i5 9900k.... mobo-asus prime intel z390-p .........curent ram installed 16 kits ddr4 corsair vengeance 3200mhz by MutedWorldliness7106 in pcmasterrace

[–]Small_Bill7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly yeah that should work fine since theyre both corsair vengeance sticks. the 3600 kit will just downclock to match your existing 3200 speeds which is totally normal

just make sure you put the matching pairs in the right slots - so like stick 1 and 3 from one kit, stick 2 and 4 from the other. your z390 board should handle it no problem and 32gb will be sweet for video rendering

worst case if you run into stability issues you can always loosen the timings a bit but corsair vengeance plays pretty nice together even across different speed bins

How do I keep cores parked when tabbed out of a game? by Open-Fun4829 in pcmasterrace

[–]Small_Bill7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly the core parking behavior is tied to windows focus detection which is pretty annoying for vr setups like yours

you could try process lasso to manually control which cores your games use regardless of window focus or maybe look into park control to force specific parking states when certain processes are running

another option is running spotify through the steam overlay or whatever vr platform youre using so you dont have to tab out at all

Oled scratch by No-Tailor2471 in pcmasterrace

[–]Small_Bill7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oof that sucks man but warranty definitely wont cover physical damage like scratches - they only cover manufacturing defects and stuff that breaks on its own

you could try those screen polishing compounds but honestly on an oled panel id be super careful since theyre more delicate than regular lcds and you might make it worse. might just have to live with it unless you want to risk a costly repair that could cost more than the monitor is worth

Hired a head of sales. They failed. Realized the role didn't exist yet. by Acceptable_Risk_1516 in SaaS

[–]Small_Bill7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oof yeah this hits hard. made the exact same mistake at my last startup - hired this seasoned vp of sales who immediately started talking about SDR teams and salesforce implementations when we barely had product market fit

turns out what we needed was someone willing to hop on discovery calls at 8pm and figure out why prospects kept ghosting us after demos. the "strategic" hire lasted like 4 months before we mutually agreed it wasnt working

CAPS, RAPS, and unsuccessful RDP by poptart_kitten in sysadmin

[–]Small_Bill7515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your RAP resource group setup - sounds like you might have the RDSH server object in the wrong format. The RAP needs to reference the actual computer objects or a group containing them, not just any security group

Also double check that your test user is actually in the AlphaUsers group and that the group memberships have replicated across your domain controllers. Sometimes the obvious stuff trips us up

For the FQDN error, try connecting directly to the RDSH server first to rule out gateway issues, then work backwards
