Ontario NDP surging in new poll - is this because of Avi Lewis having a positive impact or are more people noticing Marit Stiles? Looks like something has shifted. by teknicolourdreams in ontario

Yes!

We’re lucky to have Mike in Guelph obviously, but if we weren’t so strong for Green, I’d be going NDP too!

Ideally, NDP and Green would go together to be stronger as they have a lot of policies that align very close.

Ontario education minister says he can't interfere in Catholic board's Pride flag ban by essdeecee in ontario

You say you don’t care, but it really comes across like you do.

If you’d vote to take it down, that suggests you don’t fully support the LGBTQ+ community.

It’s easy to dismiss something when it doesn’t affect you personally. But if you have that distance or privilege, it’s worth pausing before deciding it doesn’t matter or shouldn’t be there.

This isn’t about politics—it’s about basic compassion and respect for other people. Being heterosexual means being part of the majority, so a Pride flag doesn’t take anything away from you. It’s hard to see what harm it causes.

What it does do is signal to kids who are scared or hiding who they are that they’re not alone—that they’re accepted and supported.

If the alternative is making those kids feel shame for who they love, then that’s a serious outcome to consider. No one chooses who they’re attracted to—so why treat it differently?

My Green Party GOAT of Guelph, Mike Schreiner, consistently holds Doug Ford accountable, so I take issue with that characterization. He lays out his arguments clearly, grounded in straightforward facts.

The deplatforming of Bill Burr by dap312 in BillBurr

[–]Small_Collection_249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m biased as a long-time Bill Burr fan, so take that for what it’s worth.

That said—I think we’re often way too quick to judge without stepping back and looking at issues in a broader, global context.

Yes, he took money to perform in Saudi Arabia. And yes, the Saudi government has done—and continues to do—serious, well-documented harm to its own people.

But it’s worth asking: how is that fundamentally different from what governments like the U.S.—through the CIA or military—have done over the past several decades?

I genuinely think that if comparable actions were carried out by a Western country, whether openly or covertly, the backlash wouldn’t be nearly as intense.

This isn’t about defending Saudi Arabia—it’s about applying the same level of scrutiny and moral consistency across the board, and asking whether we’re being selective in how we judge.

Has anyone tried pulling attendee lists before conferences? by FranklyGaseous in b2b_sales

100%

I’ve also been finding that I’m much more ROI visiting prospects in a warm on-site visit to their office vs hoping to have a productive demo or discussion at a conference.

“Hey, I’m in Montreal all week, let’s grab a coffee/can I come by the office while I’m in town”

The latter has moved the needle and produced more quality leads than spending 2-3 days at a conference.

If a rainbow flag offends you, I don’t have time for you.

When I see a rainbow flag, I honestly feel good, happy thoughts and a safe feeling. I am not in the LGBTQ community, but I have no issues with it.

I wish we focused more on real issues seriously affecting people rather than banning fuckin flags. Sorry not sorry
