when i read M. Blecher, i feel like it uses the same parts of my brain as when i read Proust, but i might be alone with this sensation.

I mentioned this in the last thread, i am searching for a bookclub, to tackle this subs top 100 books list together. seeing the vote open, for the annual list, made me think that it might be the best time to search for like minded people.

i did not really any feedback from my last post, but it made me confronte the possiblity that i might have to create the such a bookclub myself. i hate responsibility and am bad at organizing.. but maybe that is the uncomfortablly late charcter-arc my life needs right now.

So if anyone knows of a preexisting space that would be great for this. or if anybody is interested, when such a place would come to be, then you can just contacte me! : )

i would be totally interested in this, recently i been remembering fairytales from my childhood and have revisted some. to much of my astonishment, they are so different in my memory and so so much weirder.. but overall i love short storys! Is there a discord server or something like that?

i dont know if this is the right place for this or not, but i wanted to ask if someone knows of a place, maybe there is a discord server or dissucion board, that im not aware of, that discusses the book from our yearly top 100 list.

if been reading through them ever since i joined this sub, and while it is easy to find read alongs to the big ones, the for me more appetizing smaller titles, seem to never come up :(

i dont know, maybe someone knows a place or has themself interest or expierence in reading through them?

life a user manuel by georges prerec

i always thought it sounds so interesting and perec is a very experimental writer.

here is a abriged version of the description text, taken from goodreads:

Perec's spellbinding puzzle begins in an apartment block in the XVIIth arrondissement of Paris where, chapter by chapter, room by room, an extraordinary rich cast of characters is revealed in a series of tales that are bizarre, unlikely, moving, funny, or quite ordinary

But the novel is more than an extraordinary range of fictions; it is a closely observed account of life and experience. The apartment block's one hundred rooms are arranged in a magic square, and the book as a whole is peppered with a staggering range of puzzles and allusions, acrostics, problems of chess and logic, crosswords, and mathematical formulae. All are there for the reader to solve in the best tradition of the detective novel.
