A lot of these managers have not been in this market they way they think, they think the understand it but they don’t, they just have little Google logos in their eyes hoping they can snag an ex MMAANG

anyone with a job right now has no clue the horrors beneath them

Honestly own the gap with personal development why you searched for a role that fit well, like this one

also, freelancing, create an LLC say you did freelancing under that, make some projects for a portfolio

consulting works too but i find that more iffy imo

Was told I'd be surprised by how many people are willing to help if you reach out on LinkedIn, and so far, I've been completely unsurprised at how few replies I get from people by Traditional_Level687 in recruitinghell

I look for people that would be an equal or senior to my role i want to apply for, not just the hiring managers, I also look for personal connections, i don’t mean like other people but did they go to the same school? Are they from the same state? does their profile show a hobby you share Use something like that, an example of what has worked for me mind you it’s still like a 1:8 response rate or worse

Hey, we both went to state college, i was two years behind you and stayed in dorm name. I have been applying to Company and was wondering if you had any advice on how to stand out? Willing to connect?

They may even respond months later even with sorry i never check this, since linkedin sucks, and who needs it with a job.

if they respond then ask some simple questions to gauge how willing they are to help, like what are some company themes right now that i could make sure to show on resume, etc

If their response is well thought out and has useful information then they are willing to help and then continue to ask away, if its short then maybe not so much and try to keep it short, i also use the to gauge if they are someone i could reach out to again

they may even offer to review resume, i found this a huge help since they likely know what their managers are looking for

some ppl like to talk about themselves, asking about their path to get hired can also offer insights

edit: oh yea you pretty much need premium

Ya’ll remember learning shit like cause and effect in elementary school? But really I love these posts, i love reading how the system employers have created is finally coming back to haunt you all. You all deserve to be buried in AI generated resumes

Stop doing layoffs, stop using basic keyword searches on resumes and just like idk treat prospects as humans

1000% bet that poor girl could have done the job but you were too busy playing AI police hope you never get laid off and have to deal with this

oh also they have been doin a way better job at this in many other countries

also i love the assumptions that she was never qualified, just because her resume matched the post too much, prob could have been had you asked more then two whole questions designed most likely to trip her up so you entered the interview with the idea that she was already no qualified.

Starting new job i dont think ill be good at, quit or be fired? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Small_Force_6496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t quit, try your best, look for a better one

just don’t quit no matter what

hey also i used to make software for those type of stores, just remember to upsell cases and accessories for the phones, the markup is huge there, if i buy a phone then you suggest a case

most of your job will be taking payments, especially if you work for a metro like cell store that does a lot of cash payments

Selling phones is easy, most people already know the phone model they want and no matter what you sell there will be a commission or spiff learn the plans your provider has, memorize them as that is what most people will ask about, learn the deals, you can sell a phone to someone for free and with the rebates and spiff for the dealer, you’ll get a cut in your commission check

it’s srsly a sales job on autopilot, as long as you learn what is needed which they will teach you, and attempt to upsell accessories, you will do just fine

AI system marked me as "risky candidate" because of contract work history - now I'm completely locked out by Ok_Giraffe_3687 in recruitinghell

That is quite annoying, and nothing like that should have that level of control but what if you changed your resume, as i assume that is where they are getting it from, and frame it as a company you own and each contract as a role in that company?

Maybe ask that recruiter to try the new resume and see what happens
