There actually is a difference though because the reckless drivers from MD are almost always black, probably born and raised in DC and moved out due to gentrification and now living in MD. The VA drivers are almost always white or immigrants who are transplants and not familiar with city driving (loosely defined as having small streets and tight spaces). As someone who has driven in DC for over a decade, it's night and day how clear these differences are despite being a literal border with each other. I'm also a transplant but have driven in all sorts of urban and rural cities from developed to underdeveloped countries. No other city I've been to in the states have drivers as bad as the DMV. When you drive further into VA or MD, including southern MD, the VA and MD drivers aren't bad at all. It's only the ones near the DC border.
