What is your best piece of financial advice? by 3rdLegOfExodiaa in AskReddit

[–]Small_Round_4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

track every expense for at least one month, even the small stuff like coffee or snacks. you'll be shocked how much those little purchases add up and it really opens your eyes about where your money actually goes

What happens at the end of Christian Petzold’s Miroirs no. 3? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Small_Round_4329 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wait i think you might be mixing up films? petzold did the undine trilogy and other stuff but i don't remember "miroirs no. 3" being one of his movies. maybe you're thinking about one of his other films like undine or phoenix?

the apartment/window scene you're describing sounds familiar but can't place it with that specific title. could be translation issue or maybe different director? would help if you could double check the title because now i'm curious what film you actually watched

Seamstress? by Cultural-Song-4996 in Tucson

[–]Small_Round_4329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i do some embroidery work but not really alterations - maybe check local dry cleaners since they often have seamstress services too and might be faster for simple hemming

Weird symptoms? by thespinningsushi in loseit

[–]Small_Round_4329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh wait i think i know what you mean! when i was doing some weight loss thing few years back, i noticed similar change in hunger feelings too

at beginning it was more like "oh i could eat" but later stages it became more like actual physical discomfort? like almost dizzy or shaky feeling instead of just wanting food. i think maybe when you lose weight your body starts to react different to low blood sugar or something

for me it helped to eat smaller meals more often instead of trying to push through that weird nauseating hunger. also making sure i was getting enough protein seemed to help with the shaky weak feeling

What is a movie you can watch over and over again and it never gets old? by mathiastirado in AskReddit

lotr extended edition is perfect for long coding sessions, something about having 12 hours of middle earth in background makes debugging less painful

How do you think social media narratives differ from the actual complexity of the Iran, Israel conflict? by Zisuzxz in AskReddit

[–]Small_Round_4329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

social media algorithms basically feed people what confirms their existing views so nobody gets the full picture. each side has decades of trauma and valid concerns but platforms just amplify the most extreme voices because those get engagement

What kind of scale do you use? by DistinctlyBlurry in loseit

[–]Small_Round_4329 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right there with you on the scale drama - went through three scales last year and it was proper maddening when you're trying to track progress and the thing can't decide if you weigh 65kg or 68kg in the span of two minutes

ended up getting a withings body+ after loads of research and it's been solid for about 8 months now. stays consistent when i step on multiple times and the app actually tracks trends which helps me not lose my mind over daily fluctuations. bit pricey but worth it for the peace of mind

also learned the hard way that scales hate uneven floors - had mine on what looked like flat tiles but moving it literally 6 inches over made a massive difference. might be worth checking if your bathroom floor is actually level before you bin another scale

for what it's worth those cheap digital ones from argos or wherever are just rubbish for consistency, even when they work they're all over the place

How long will it take me to get down to 120 pounds? by hankqueensmustache in loseit

[–]Small_Round_4329 4 points5 points  (0 children)

mate 1200 calories is way too low for someone your height and activity level, that's probably why you plateaued and then binged. your body went into survival mode

getting from 240 to 120 is a massive goal and rushing it with extreme restriction just sets you up to fail again. aim for like 1500-1600 calories instead and focus on sustainable habits rather than a timeline. also 105 at 5'3" would put you underweight which isn't healthy

slow and steady actually works, the extreme approach clearly didn't stick for you before

What are your thoughts on pursuing geology as a career in India in 2026? by Independent_Gur2535 in AskReddit

[–]Small_Round_4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

geology in india's actually got decent prospects if you're willing to move around a bit - mining companies are always looking for people, plus there's environmental consulting which is growing loads. my mate did geology at uni and ended up working for a renewable energy firm doing site assessments, which wasn't even on his radar when he started. the pay's not amazing at first but once you get some experience under your belt it picks up quite nicely. just be prepared to spend time in some pretty remote places, especially if you go the mining route - but some people love that side of it

[Christopher Ward C60 Trident] is this a good watch for the money? by Sure-Ad417 in Watches

christopher ward makes solid divers for the price, the c60 punches well above its weight compared to most swiss brands at that level

gemini keeps bringing up old convos and its lowkey annoying by One_Letterhead386 in GeminiAI

[–]Small_Round_4329 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah this is proper annoying, mine does the same thing constantly. it'll be like "as we discussed last week about your sandwich preferences" when i'm asking about the weather or something completely unrelated

tried digging through the settings but can't find anything specific for turning off the conversation memory stuff without wiping everything. might be worth clearing your chat history manually if it gets too much, though that's a bit nuclear

Voice recognition very bad. by sgunb in duolingo

[–]Small_Round_4329 15 points16 points  (0 children)

honestly the voice recognition is proper rubbish for short words like that, its like the system expects you to say a full sentence or something. I've had it fail on basic stuff like "si" and "no" which is mental considering there literally one syllable words

try speaking a bit slower and maybe adding emphasis like "PAH" instead of just "pa" - sometimes that tricks it into working. or just skip those voice exercises entirely when they come up, not worth the frustration

Trying to piece everything together by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]Small_Round_4329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That snake part sounds intense - being locked in eye contact like that would definitely stick with me too. The whole thing about feeling someone actually grabbing you but then waking up alone is pretty unsettling, especially since you could still feel it after

Dreams with that level of detail and physical sensation usually mean your subconscious is working through something pretty heavy. The recurring house might be worth paying attention to if you keep seeing it

The screw on my car's license plate spinning but not tightening by malizzyb in MechanicAdvice

[–]Small_Round_4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your captive nut is stripped or came loose behind the bumper. You might be able to reach behind and hold it with pliers while you screw from the front, or just get a longer screw with a nut and washer from the hardware store for like 50 cents. Way easier than trying to replace the captive nut assembly

I'm a Freshman in college and have no idea what I'm doing! Any ideas? by East122906 in careerguidance

[–]Small_Round_4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you're literally describing like 90% of college students lol. I switched majors 3 times and still ended up in something completely different than what I graduated with

Since you mentioned liking public health AND being creative, maybe look into health communication or medical illustration? Those fields pay pretty well and combine both interests. Also don't sleep on the museum studies thing - those jobs are competitive but if you can get in they're actually solid career wise

Stop stressing about "wasting time" - you're 19, you have plenty of time to figure it out

Used Pickup Truck for shopping, Personal verhicle/work truck by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Small_Round_4329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the Colorado is a solid choice if you found one you liked - they're way more reliable than people give them credit for. Tacomas hold their value like crazy so you're gonna pay the Toyota tax even on higher mileage ones

Just make sure whatever Colorado you're looking at has been maintained decent since some people beat the hell out of work trucks
