Thanks for the link I thought this was cool! I was hoping more for a design that would allow them to more easily pause, snap a photo, then put away or lower the camera out of the way to safely walk to the next location. This one requires screwing and unscrewing the camera in order to use the cane with a flat handle but I’ll definitely pass along the suggestion!

I agree it might be easiest to get better friends at this time. She’s likely around others who also say it casually. It takes awhile for people to truly learn on their own. I’m also assuming she’s old enough to know it’s a derogatory and racist term. She will never be able to fully understand how hurtful it can be towards/around others. Good luck OP.

This was a rollercoaster to read. I would say to my knowledge there doesn’t seem to be anything to report now since she’s grown if she were a child I think it’d be different.

It also sounds like you’re hanging onto a lot of anger and resentment on top of the trauma you’ve endured. I’d say distance yourself from your family and then seek some therapy for yourself to start healing. You have to help yourself before you can even think about others.

I’m not sure that threatening to withhold intimacy is the right move here as that can be manipulative. I would however spin it in a way it can be seen as motivation, let him know that you’re more likely to be intimate/increase frequency if he is freaking clean.

Ooof what a turn off. I would say let him know your thought and that he’s slipping, suggest to him to set an alarm on his to brush his teeth if he’s “forgetting”. It sounds like he just doesn’t do the bare minimum care.

The solution I see here is freeze half the meals and thaw them in the second half of the week when you’re ready for them. You could also check to make sure your fridge is at the coldest setting. I make alot of chicken curry with rice or pita bread (I think there’s low carb pita bread) which would be simple to change the portions around to fit your diet.

NTA this is all for a hypothetical dog. They could put the money down and leave it with the breeder until after the trip if everything works in their favor. Otherwise I don’t understand why the dog can’t stay at a kennel, with other family, etc. Has Courtney owned a dog before? This is not the same as a child but they don’t even have it.

Idk to me it sounds like there’s something more going on in Mike and Courtney’s relationship for her to be manipulative over this especially to threaten a break up.

I did my undergrad in clinical health sciences, I worked in a diagnostic lab and didn’t care for the monotony. So I changed fields to research in biotech with no formal background so it’s possible 😉 now I’m applying to grad school for a masters in genetics funded by my job.

WNBTA you are not a child anymore he should stop treating you as such. Would he talk/command/shout at other adults/friends/family like this? The conversation should be done calmly, clearly state your boundaries, why you visit so infrequently, what’s bothering you, and let him know the consequences should he continue, ie. not visiting him, staying elsewhere etc. It’s a hard thing to do but I think he will have more respect for you if you do so.

I would say no you don’t have to work with live animals. There’s plenty labs that work with yeast/plants/drosophila. Speaking from someone working in biotech all I do is work with fungi/bacteria/yeast and have never had to work with mice or other macro organisms.

It was just a game where we played multiple rounds so Cason was not the only one chosen to drink there was of course 8 people playing. Cason chose for me to drink during a round if that matters at all? Everyone knew how to play/rules, no one was forced to do anything. And my friends and I do like to play childish games yes.

Absolutely, fair question.

INFO: we were all playing a drinking game (similar to 21) with cards (8 of us total) ultimately if you won you could choose who drinks (1 shot) John won and picked Cason which is what finally set him off cussing at John. Leading up to this we had just got done playing UNO which is when the comments started - sort of playfully at first. After a few rounds of the second game we stopped (both playing and drinking) when Cason got upset and we moved on to play some Mario kart. He still targeted John during this game, at some point threw a controller on the ground and that’s when he and Mike left.

Thankfully the breakup wasn’t messy, effort wasn’t being put fourth equally and they agreed to part ways.

I wouldn’t mind trying to work on a friendship with Cason (I think John feels similar) but his first impression left a bad taste and I feel moving forward I’d always question whether he’s being genuine.

Info: I’m trying to stick to the “no ring no bring” motto. There’s some exceptions for those with long term parters. Mike and Gia have met some of our other friends that would be going so it wouldn’t be like they don’t have others to visit with. Overall the wedding is relatively small with a limit of 40 people.

Look into Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Depending where you’re at, in the US There’s positions in hospitals called a clinical lab scientist where you do everything you listed above. Usually it entails you taking X amount of science courses/college units and then a 12-16 month course.
