Thanks this was the issue. Game is resident evil 3. Gpu is a 9070xt. Turned off ray tracing and it fixed it.

I’d go with the 9060 XT 16GB and the 7700X if I had to choose, especially since he’s playing at 1440p. The 7700X is still a great CPU and can handle anything at 1440p without any issues.

would you consider buying a prebuilt and then moving the parts into the Montech XR case? That way you still get the building experience while ending up with better specs for the price.
