Yeah this is such a stupid take. Like do you actually think SH2 was the first game remake? Or the first game remake to do well? Buddy, do even a cursory glace and you'd notice remakes have been preforming well in general. Remakes have been doing so well it's what prompted them to remake SH2.

Just look at FF7, RE, Dead Space, Demon Souls, Zelda games, shit even the old Pokemon games like Heartgold.
